The only problem that I have with the search function now is that I'll have a blank page when I search for "ls6 manifold" or "tr224 cam only" but "manifold" works perfectly..

I have also noticed that if I use the word "single" in the search phrase, I get a blank white screen, (i.e. "single gauge pod", "single pod", "single plug wire", etc). Take the word "single" out of the search and it works fine.

dlmater -- now that's an odd one. It DOES trigger on some boolean words (AND, OR) but I can't think of how/why it would trigger on the word "single" ... I'll check it out

I wouldn't consider it "quick" to complain. The search function has been useless for a long time now. A fix has been in progress for a long time also.

I've heard that it isn't a problem that you can just throw money at. Here's a suggestion.....throw some money at someone that knows what they are doing with the board. No offense to Brains but like I said.....the fix has been in the works for a long time. And no results.

As far as gratitude....how about you guys ahow a little? If it weren't for the members that come here there wouldn't be that long list of sponsors that line your pockets. And if it weren't for the members.....that check would have been a lot smaller when you sold the site.

Maybe I'm the only one that's fed up with it.

Maybe I should pay you to READ the sticky? I can paypal you your 2 cents back as a refund. There is a reason it has taken a while, this was explained a few times by now.

I dunno - maybe I just got lucky - but the last few times I've searched, it's worked perfectly, and without using "forumid" or "userid."

Wouldn't that take away from your Ls1tech funded toybox?

You guys can't understand the frustration? I read your sticky. Along with most of the other 300 stickies. The problem has been around longer than the sticky. You gave some great excuses back then. This one is pretty good too.

the search function is this sites only weakness. I can get it to work about 30% of the time.

You guys can't understand that WE are frustrated too? You don't think it drives us (staff) nuts that the search feature SUCKS and that it doesn't work properly? You don't think it frustrates us to hear people complain about something to us that already frustrates us? YES IT SUCKS AND WE HATE THIS. IT SUCKS WORSE WHEN YOU KEEP COMPLAINING ABOUT IT AND WE ARE LIMITED ON WHAT WE CAN DO AT THE MOMENT.

There's already a google search link as an option as well -- click the search drop down

The google version sucks. This works much better IMO. Go to yahoo.com and type in whatever you want to search for in the search box and then type site www.ls1tech.com. For example ls6 intake site:www.ls1tech.com

Its much more effective than google because it actually gives you the thread titles instead of saying ls1tech for each one.

Nice Job Farva!

That is a good way to run a query.

That works with google too, but yahoo has a lot more threads indexed, so you do find more there.

Ok now it seems that some multi-word queries work but not others. Really weird.

Example:
"afr heads" = white page
"sway bars" = works
