...opps, I meant to post 192kb in your pic vs the limit is 19.5kb. If you can open it in Photoshop or any other .gif animater to reduce the dimensions and maybe chop a few frames out you might get closer to the limit.

Only thing I can think of is a Google search. Go to Google, search images for GIF. If the search is too vague then search something like "Sonic GIF."

I messed with that photo editing program but haven't had any luck saving as smaller files, they actually get larger

The gif I posted is actually 19.3KB (which is 19,855 bytes) not 19.8KB so it is under the 19.5KB limit

Will this work or is there something else preventing it from being done?

Thanks man!

Thanks for the help

But isn't it way too big now because it's supposed to be under 19.5, not 93.5?

What error did it give, that you cannot use an animated GIF, or something else? I think Crager can get around the animated gif part at least....

It was under the limit, my bad. I thought 19855 = 19.8kb.

Yeah that sh*t gets confusing cuz a KB is expressed as equaling 1024 bytes and also can be expressed as 1000 bytes depending on how it's used. Storage usually uses 1024 and transmission rates usually equal 1000.

Anyway thanks for changing it!

I fixed your avatar. With animated gifs you have to edit all frames, otherwise, depending on the program you use, it sometimes just edits the first frame and saves that and you lose the entire animation because an animation is composed of several frames.

You'd have to check with an Administrator, such as Crager. The Regular usergroup is confined to 100x100 maximum for avatars while the Administrators can break the rules.

This is why I sized yours to 100x100 as that's the maximum for the Regular usergroup.

I did turn on .gif as an allowed file format and upped the file size a while back, but the staff is allowed more of an avatar size than members.
