but you have to remember most of us dont upgrade our phone every week for the new one, some of us are still rocking old school's

I would use it. When visiting the site now it takes forever scrolling to a part that I want to visit.

It seems like a waste though to upgrade the board for old technology. I'm assuming if it was an easy thing to do it would have been done already.

is it really an upgrade? or an alternative viewing scheme? i don't know a lot about website development, but it doesn't seem like making a mobile version of the site would be an "upgrade".

I'm not sure. I'm guessing there is some type of "Mod" (add-on's) for VBulliten that allows the site to be viewed in "Mobile Mode". Sometimes these mods are very easy to add, sometimes they are very, very complicated and do more damage than good. Also, many mods will not work with eachother.
