Default Adding an 8.1L section?

How about a Gen VII Big block section? I've seen plenty of guys modifying them. would be interesting to see what the big boys can do with some knowledge behind them.

I second this. I have a dually w/ this engine in it, a 2001, and it has hauled race car trailers its whole life, currently has 150k on it and I finally changed plugs a few thousand miles ago. Workhorse for sure

The reason I asked on here and not perf trucks, is it seems like an often asked about swap with the conversion guys. Not as much on ls1tech as some of the other forums I have seen, but if there was a section we might see more discussion about that platform. Its hard to argue with a 1200hp production engine.

The question wasn't "can we add a truck section?" It was "can we have a Gen VII big block section?" - hence my smartass response. Sorry for hijacking my own thread.

Yep, the Gen IV BBC was introduced in 1966. the Gen VII is really the first "new school" re-design of the BBC. Like the Gen 3 was for SBCs...

The LS1 Gen III PCM control system is used on these engines as well, Personally, I think it would be a good idea to have a section for these engines/drivetrains.

Did not know that. And would never think of that. Good point!

i think it would be badass to see what these guys are doing as well. This may be LS1Tech, but there's also LT1, and BBC subforums, one more wouldnt hurt, esp something like this.

i second the whole 8.1L idea.
Anytime anybody bothers to ask any question in regards to the 8.1L the first immediate response is GO LS OR LSX, maybe some ppl want to be different & unconventional. & if enough ppl did it it might create a market for new parts.

Just out of curiosity, and with the assumption that so far discussion about this platform has taken place in the BBC forum, how many threads have you seen in the last month about them? Few months?

Whenever you divide forums, by definition you are also dividing views, so that's something to consider. The trade-off has the possibility of brining less, not more, attention to the platform. If you've only seen a few threads about them in the past month or so, then its possible the forum would be DOA.

Something to consider.
