Default 2002 Trans Am 6sp in NC 7600 obo

Year: 2002
Make: Pontiac
Model: Firebird
Price: $7600
Mileage: 123333
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): NC
Color: Red
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive
LS Engine?: Car has LS engine

Alright well I'm finally putting up my 2002 Trans Am for sale. Overall it is in good shape for the year and the miles. The mileage is high BUT the engine AND rearend have both been rebuilt within the last 15k miles.

----Pros---
--The rearend only has 1k miles on it. Rebuilt with stock 3.42 motive gears and the GM KOYo rebuild kit
--The engine has 15k on it since the rebuild, new knock sensors with the little dam built around them to protect them better, fel pro top end gaskets and exhaust gaskets, brand new lifters.
--Fresh oil change, full synthetic valvoline
--Brand New spark plugs within 100 miles ago
--Right headlight motor and passenger window motor both replaced less than 1k miles ago. I believe the drivers side were replaced before I got the vehicle.
--Rear tires have maybe 3k on them and the front have about 60% tread.
--Front brakes brand new rotors and pads within about 2k miles ago
--Headlights and brights all replaced while I've had it
--BRAND NEW running light housings, they look good
--BRAND NEW COMPUTER-
--The power steering pump is MAYBE 200 miles old as well
--Alternator was also replaced within 5k miles
--BRAND NEW CLUTCH INSTALLED

---Cons---
--Front bumper could use paint as well as hood
--A/C doesn't work

The exhaust is longtube headers welded to the stock Y pipe with a hooker cat-back. Sounds awesome, not too loud at WOT but good idle.

Obviously this car has higher mileage.... but not near as high as some of the cars I've seen on here and the only thing this car is going to need in the next few thousand miles will be a clutch. It still engages and disengages ok, but you'll want to replace it within a few months of purchasing it.

The front bumper isn't pretty and the hood obviously isn't painted nor does it fit perfect but thats because I didn't pay 750$ for it, I also have the stock hood. Overall you're getting a higher mileage sports car.... with almost everything replaced or rebuilt. I would trust this car to drive anywhere.

I'm getting the car out of the shop on friday it's having the computer replaced, brand new. I will have pictures of it on friday!

The Price is 7500 FIRM as I just put a brand new clutch in.

I also have with the car a set of low mileage heads I was thinking about having sent out and putting on it that will come with the car along with brand new fel pro headgaskets, and along with both hoods. UNLESS I sell any of this, if I do I will put that money towards the pay-off and lower the price.

Any questions feel free to ask!

Pics from 10/31/2010 More pics will be up tonight.

The stock hood is going back on in a few days and the Ram Air hood will come with it, the stock hood has a spot where the clear coat is chipping, isn't that big though.

The Ram Air hood was bought off ebay for from a company and it doesn't line up to a T so they gave me my money back and told me to keep the hood because of shipping costs. Honestly if you get brackets made for it to move it forward maybe 1/4 of an inch it would be good, I'll post pics up of how it looks with it on and the little gaps. Also the vents for the hood are inside the glove box.

UPDATE: BOTTOM DOLLAR PRICE IS 7k$. Won't take a penny less. The car drives fine as-is it will need a clutch "EVENTUALLY" I can easily spend 600$ and have a new clutch in it so that's how negotiable I am with the price.

So either 7k or if you want a new clutch in it before you get it then 7600, and I'll pay for the clutch and install. Either way I'm eating 600$. My mechanic charges 300$ for labor for the full clutch install. And for 300 give or take you can have a decent clutch. The only reason I'm doing this is I've already been contacted by a few people and the clutch was a concern for them.

Who rebuilt the motor? Can't believe they wouldn't have suggested changing out the clutch while the motor was being rebuilt. You wouldn't have had to pay the extra labor this time around.....

A friend of mine that has a business out of his garage, he's an ASE certified mechanic and all his labor/parts insured. He cut me a good deal on the labor for the rebuild, I did not have the extra money for the clutch at the time.

Sorry lmoney sounds like a good bike but I already have a 2007 zx 10rr.

ALSO I'm really not looking for any trades, and I'm not even sure how that would work since I owe on the car.

Well picked the car up from the shop today, running great but the clutch was getting worse so it's now back to my mechanic and a new clutch is going in. I won't sell something that I wouldn't trust driving anywhere. Pics should be up friday.

cool, waiting on pics of what it looks like now.

do you have any paperwork for any of the maintenance & work done ? i.e. rebuilt motor and rear, PS pump

why did it need a new computer ? have you had a lot of problems with this car ?

thanks

Motor no, also valve covers are painted red. The power steering pump might not have a receipt but its under warranty I can go to autozone and have them pull it up. And no receipts on the rear-end but I have no reason to lie about it, just as well if that was the deciding point of you buying it or not I'd put the rear end on stands, drain it, and pull the valve cover off.

I have NO IDEA why it needed a computer. I think it was just something 1 in a million that happend, there was nothing that caused it.

Honeslty not problems so much as simply replacing stuff, I got the car before it turned 100k, so thats why I've had to replace so much. The thing has never left me stranded somewhere though. The tune-up was done by my buddy so no receipts there but you can pull the plugs and easily see they're new.

The clutch, and computer install I will have receipts for though. Hopefully pics will be up this weekend, if not very early next week. I'll shoot you a PM when they're up though.

I would trust this car anywhere I've taken it to Florida, New York, Ohio once. Never left me up ****'s creek. I wouldn't sell a car I didn't trust to drive anywhere without saying so, karma's a bitch and I'm too honest of a guy anyway. That is why I went ahead and put the clutch in, when I picked it up from having the computer put in the Eric at AutoLogic talked to me about it for awhile then told me it was getting pretty bad so I went ahead and put it in the shop immediately for a clutch. I know I sure as hell would not want to buy a car and have the clutch possibly go so.
ALSO price is going back to 7500 because of the brand-new clutch.

ill post a good pic of it when i pick it up. to be honest all you would need is to have new brackets made for like 50$ to move it forward a tiny bit. or just dremel out the existing ones some.
