This is a really fun car! I have owned it and loved it for 4 years and had many plans for it. It’s a black t-top TRUE Monte Carlo SS with stock red decals and stripes. It is a sleeper with a totally stock look- comes with 2 spare stock aluminum rally wheels. It will be considered a classic next year in 2011!
It is a fuel and power efficient V8 LSX swap car with THOUSANDS of dollars worth of parts and many hours of research and building put into it, I have documentation/receipts for most of these parts:
STOCK LS1/4L60E motor/automatic tranny combo pulled out of a 2000 TransAm rated at 300hp COMPLETE with stock re-worked wiring harness, reprogrammed ECU, and all stock components (multiport injection, stock intake manifold, all accessories, AC compressor- everything!), bought the motor with 26k miles on it, it has approximately 30k miles on it now.
Custom 4” air intake tubing built with Spectre Performance parts and K&N cone filter.
Custom LSX swap ceramic coated 1 ¾” long tube stainless steel headers made by BRP Hotrods for G-body cars- almost $700 brand new!
Custom LSX swap polyurethane motor and tranny mounts, tranny crossmember & frame brackets swap kit from BRP Hotrods for G-body cars.
Custom swap LH8 oil pan for clearance.
Dual electric fans from a 2000 TransAM.
Custom aluminum driveshaft from Axle Exchange.
Refurbished gas tank from an EFI V6 Monte Carlo to switch from the carburetor to the EFI.
New fuel and brake lines, fuel pump mounted inside frame rails.
Pypes stainless steel dual exhaust with 2 mini cats, X-pipe, 2 Violator mufflers, and tail pipes (tails are not on the car but are included)- sounds AWESOME!
Alpine CD player installed.
Synthetic oil ONLY used.
Premium gas ONLY used.
The swap was done by a certified mechanic who works in the area. The car IS a project- it still needs some things (body work for some rust in typical spots, the maroon interior is complete but does have some fading, AC is not hooked up). With some planned upgrades and tuning this should be a 12 second and under car- easy WHILE giving you 100% driveability on the street. I've done a lot of parts research and would be glad to share that with you if you'd like to build the car up more with lowered cornering suspension, C5 or other big brake upgrade, rear end upgrades, etc., there's a lot of options out there. It's got 90,513 miles on the odometer. NJ state inspection is good until 02/11. Would make a GREAT winter project or daily driver!
It is an awesome ride AS IS that hauls xxxx - I drove it daily all summer- it got 20+mpg and I can take this car anywhere- highway or city- it is a super performer and get compliments everywhere I go in it!
