Default 2002 SOM Z28 fully built, cage, 12 Bolt etc...

Year: 2002
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Camaro
Price: $11500
Mileage: 80000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): FL
Color: Orange
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive
LS Engine?: Car has LS engine

I bought this car 2 years ago and I've been using it primarily as a bracket car for the last 2 seasons with the occasional street driving trip and it has been wonderful but I'm ready for something new, so I'm putting her up for sale. Car runs great and does fine around town or on the highway but it is more of a race car than a street car.
NO RADIO, NO HEAT, NO AC (ALL HVAC CONTROLS REMOVED), NO POWER STEERING. Nitrous has not been used on the car in 2 years but I still have everything to Re-install. Car is 100% legal for all types of racing and all certifications are current. Car is dead nuts consistent if your looking for a bracket car but is also very fast for whatever else you may want to do. When our racing season ended back in October I did a lot of maintenance on the car between Oct - Jan.
Trans, converter, flex plate, rear brakes & tires were all refreshed or replaced. I will list everything I can think of below:

2002 SOM Z28
NHRA certified Chrome Moly cage. Certified to 8.50 GOOD TIL 01/2012
2 Kirkey Aluminum seats with black covers and extra padding
G-Force 5 point harnesses (both seats)
B&M pro stick shifter "composite"
Raptor shift light
Grant detachable steering wheel
VFN mike moran hood
Wheel wells trimmed to clear 30" tires
All new RACECRAFT hood rails

Motor:
Stock ci LS1
LG g5x2 cam (232-240) 595/608 112 or 114 ?
Stock stg 2 ported heads from Mikey @ Rapid Motorsports
NEW 921 SPRINGS (MAYBE 15 PASSES ON THEM)
Fast 90/90mm

Trans:
Coan/FTI TH400 w/ transbrake, Ultra bell and all the goodies - REFRESHED BY FTI 15 PASSES AGO
FTI / TCI 4000 converter (rebuilt 15 passes ago)
2 tranny coolers
steel 3inch drive shaft
NEW TCI SFI flex plate (15 passes ago)

Rear:
Strange 12 bolt w/4.10 gear & spool
Strange rear drag brakes ( rebuilt 15 passes ago & new pads)

Suspension:
Qa1 front 12 way adjustable shocks
Strange 12 way adjustable rear shocks
Spohn Lower Control Arms - Adj. with Poly Bushings
Spohn Adj. Torque Arm - LS1 F-Body w/Long Tubes w/drive shaft loop
Spohn 1" (25mm) Solid 4140 Rear Sway Bar
BMR Double adjustable panhard bar
BMR K-member

Safety:
Drive Shaft loop
Battery in SFI approved battery box in T-top Hull

Exhaust:
Kooks 2inch race headers 3 1/2 collectors
DBR custom single w/ 4” Flowmaster TOP 10 Series 2 chamber race muffler

Mics:
Dual bottle brackets
Two bottle heaters
Two bottles painted to match car
all lines, solenoid and jets included

CAR HAS BEEN 10.4 ON A 28" TIRE ON MOTOR AND 9.7 ON A 150 SHOT WITH THE 30" TIRE. This was 2 years ago before I got hooked on bracket racing.

Wheels:
Welds Pro Starts painted black front and rear
NEW 295/65/15 30" MT radials (15 passes)
Mickey Thompson radials on front

There is an easy 15,000 in parts on this car and everything works perfectly.

Cage, belts, ultrabell & flex plate are all certified / SFI compliant and current. I raced in the NHRA Southeastern division finals back in October and you know they don't miss anything.

I generally race in an 1/8 mile series and depending on weather it runs 6.80 - 7.0 @ 99 - 101
When I run 1/4 10.7 - 10.9 @ 124 - 126
car weighs 2900lbs

I ran Saturday night and here is the info from the slips:

1.49 60 ft.
6.81 @ 101.1

1.47 60 ft.
6.80 @ 101.7

1.46 60 ft
6.78 @ 101.5

next pass it spun and I was done........ Someone broke before me and I think the track guys missed some fluid :-(((

I will be at Orlando Speed World racing the car this coming Saturday 2/19/11 in our 2011 1/8 mile bracket series if you want to see the car....

Car still has working power windows and locks, tilt wheel and the factory remote still unlocks the doors, Not a big deal but I thought I would mention it. I also Have an 18foot dovetail trailer that I can sell with the car. There is a pic below with the car on the trailer before I painted the hood, The Hummer H2 is also for sale if you want a complete turn key setup ?????

John Deere Racer,
I see that Mike Norris has done some tuning on your truck, Mike and I are best of friends, he generally stays at my place when he is in town, He knows the car well? I own some property in Bowling Green, KY and I need to come up there soon so I'm sure we could work something out if your interested.

It has honestly been one of the best cars Ive ever owned. Never let me down but I have a 1950 gmc truck I want to build and I need some space and $ to finish the truck.
Very cool that you know the past 2 owners......
