Default 2000 Formula Firehawk

Year: 2000
Make: Pontiac
Model: Firebird
Price: $13500
Mileage: 60000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): GA
Color: Gray
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive
LS Engine?: Car has LS engine

Car build number 668 and this is one of two black, hard top, M6 Formula Firehawks made in 2000. Have all SLP documentation. Low miles {around 60K}, black exterior and dark grey interior in good shape. Car is heavily modified for open track, track day and hillclimb type events. Engine is a 402cid stroker that is putting down roughly 550hp to the rear wheels. Engine was built by Vengeance Performance and has less than 2K miles on it since build. Tranny is a T56 and it has 4.10 gear in the rear axle. Tubular front K member, Koni adjustable shocks with adjustable spring perches, larger hollow sway bars, sub frame connectors, roll bar, C5 front rotors, adjustable lower control arms and plenty I'm forgetting. Car suspension and brakes are also heavily modded and this car handles and stops like a supercar.

Approximate performance numbers-

1/4 time- best of a 11.30 with a 1.80 60 foot of road race type DOT radials
1/4 speed- 129mph {as you can tell by the lazy 60ft and the speed, this car could run mid 10s if it hooked}
Braking from 60mph has been recorded at less than 94 feet. Won 0-60-0 event at Year One Experience two years in a row.
Cornering Gs has not been recorded but I'm sure it's in excess of 1g with the tires I normally run.
Top speed with the 4.10 gears should be around 175-180mph, rear gear swap to a 3.73 or a 3.42 should get near 200mph
Car weighs around 3400lbs with 1/4 of fuel.
Compare those numbers with any modern supercar and I think you will see it fairs very well.
Car has done sub 1:40 lap times at Road Atlanta and that was before the new engine with 150 less horsepower. Car has won and placed at several AutoXs including the Year One Experience at Road Atlanta and the Bristol Bash.

This car is a seriously fast car. It does have some small cosmetic issues associated with a car that actually sees the track {wheels in rough shape from brake dust and some paint issues. The 13.5K$ price given is as is. I will be fixing some of the issues and the price will go up according to condition but these are certainly not big cosmetic issues and are easily fixed. It's a great car and I thought I would be keeping this car for the rest of my life but my life has changed and I just don't use it anymore and rather than let it deteriorate from age and neglect as I'm looking into moving out of the country. I would like to sell or will entertain trades. Looking for a 3/4-1 ton 4X4 98 back Dodge Cummins or a 7.3L Ford.

Rather than posting pics I'll add a link to my Cardomain page. It is no longer 100% correct as I haven't updated it in quite awhile but it will give you all you would even need as far as specs, mods and pics.

Thanks, do appreciate the kind words. The K5 and the Mustang are gone and this will be my last cool car. Didn't think I would ever sell it but life changes I don't think I'll have much need for it anymore.

Judd, got 2 questions. One, got any interior pics around? Mostly curious if you've caged it and what seats are in it. Second, AC still functional? If no do you have the parts for it? I'm interested though. Thanks.

Tom

Edit: Not in Charlotte anymore. Living in Macon now, much closer! Haven't posted in a while.

The interior is in pretty good shape, very good shape actually. The seats {all of em, including the aluminium race seats} are in good shape. AC was working fine last I checked {last summer}.

Judd,

Sorry to see you sell your Hawk. That is about the baddest f-body I've ever seen on the road. The car is a beast and a great example of the potential of these cars when used for more than just drag racing.

Good luck with whatever the future brings you.

Hey man, thanks for the kind words and good to hear from you again. Don't feel too bad about me selling it. I have gotten completely out of the car thing and have no use for it anymore. If I made considerably more I might keep it and do a track day every once in awhile but I decided to trade a well paying job for alot less money but plenty of time off so I can travel on the bikes. Better to sell it and let someone else have fun with it rather than let it sit.

I understand about selling it. I sold my Hawk about 1-1/2 years ago for kind of the same reason... no time to ever use it and not enough spare income to justify just letting it sit and collect dust. I still have my HOSS, but I don't think I've put 150 miles on it in the last 3-1/2 years.

Good luck and enjoy the extra time to play with the bikes.

The buyer of Judd's Hawk is getting an incredible car.

How you like that G8?

BTW, have you read any about the new Ford Boss 302 Laguna Seca Edition? Man, if I was still into cars that would be one I would want.

The G8 is a great daily car. It could have been perfect with a manual trans, but I didn't have the extra $8500 for the price difference when I got mine (for a GXP). I got it when I had my 3rd kid so I could fit the whole family... now I've got 4 kids so I can't fit everybody anyway... so I'm actually ready to try to find another coupe since we already have a minivan for the wife (wish I still had my Mach 1 for daily driving).

That Laguna Seca Boss is a wicked car. If I could get one in a single solid color (i.e. stripe / graphics delete), I'd really like it. Not a huge fan of the appearance, but the performance is awesome. I've very interested to see how it compares on a road course with a SVT Performance Package equipped GT500.

Right now I'm still up to my ears in family stuff (4 kids with 2 in diapers doesn't leave much time for anything else let alone cars). It just means all these great new cars coming out will have depreciated into my price range by the time I have any spare time again

You mentioned moving out of the country... where to?

It's gonna be down the road a few years if at all but I'm looking real hard at Ecuador. It's got some fairly modern cities, it the same temp all year from 90 degree temps and white sugar sand on the beaches to mountains at 10K+ feet to jungles. It's past the Darien Gap so I'll have the entire S. American continent to ride and best of all,,,, it's very, very cheap to live there, they run off the US dollar and they make it super easy to immigrate. Basically prove you have 800$ a month coming in, meet the background check and stay there two years and your a citizen. Quite the opposite of Mexico, ironically Mexico has a pain in the *** immigration policy.
