1999 Camaro 10 second car @ ~7500 ft
Year: 1999
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Camaro
Price: $9500
Mileage: 115000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): NM
Color: Orange
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive
LS Engine?: Car has LS engine
1999 NBM Camaro with the SS package - Now the car is code 99U "Hugger Orange" w/ gloss black berger panel. I've had this car since 2006. I purpose built this car for the street and it drives/cruises better than my CTS-V
List of engine mods:
-LS6 block (machine work done by Jess here in Santa Fe, New Mexico)
-Diamond 11502 (3.905) flat-tops with -2cc valve reliefs
-Total Seal rings .020 steel top rings
-ARP main studs
-Eagle H-beam rods
-ARP 2000 rod bolts
-Scorpion racing 1.7 lifters
-Shimmed LS6 oil pump (~65psi)
-Heads are 709s shaved to 55cc chambers. With the cometic head gasket at .040 and the chambers at 59cc they should be at 11.8-12.2 compression
-MS4 cam w/ PRC dual springs and Ti retainers
-Stock intake
-Stock TB
-SLP 85mm MAF
-Crank off of a 2002 Firebird
-Calico bearings (rod, main, cam) and all new gaskets
-Racetronix 255 fuel pump with hot-wire kit
-42lb injectors
-1 3/4 to 3" headers w/ 3" y-pipe and single exit exhaust dumped pre-axle
Car was tuned by Dave at Motiva Performance (Made 553 on the 250 hit, blowing through the converter too much to get a good run). Has a dual-tune (29* motor and 19* nitrous) that I will educate the buyer on.
Car has seen a best of 10.9 @ 120mph with me spraying after the 60' to save the rear and letting off at the 1000' marker due redline because of the loose converter (This is at 7500DA!!!). The car now has a 3000 stall converter and WOW it made a huge difference. Hoping for 10.7s+
Suspension/Rear-end/Transmission mods:
-223lb springs up front
-Stock springs in the rear w/ Crane 3-way adjustable shocks
-LCA relocation brackets
-Auburn Xtreme Pro carrier w/ Motive 3.73 gears (About 75mph @ 3500rpm in 3rd)
-Stock axles with extended ARP studs
-TH350 transmission (built by Paul at Precision Transmission) w/ Hughes 3000 stall
Wheels/Tires:
RaceStar 17x3.5 fronts w/ Hoosier 26x7.5 tires
RaceStar 15x10 rears w/ Hoosier 325/50 radials (never been down the track, but hook like a mother on the street)
Interior:
Full interior (backseat, insulation, sound deadener, etc)
10" MTX Camaro specific subwoofer
Pioneer deck w/ ipod adapter
Alpine type-R front and sail panel speakers w/ tweeters mounted in the doors
New driver-side window motor, Racetronix passenger side window hotwire kit
The BAD:
Speedo does not work. The parts are ~$300 to convert the TH350 speedo
The car will NOT come with the nitrous setup
Powersteering works intermittently...Probably needs a new pump or rack but I have it disconnected and it's barely noticeable except when making U-turns
Heater works! But I took the A/C out
Some scratches and rock chips in the paint, but not bad for a car that is DRIVEN at least 500 miles weekly
Like I mentioned before...The interior isn't the best but it's not bad for a 12 year old car. A crack in the dash and the carpet on the driver side is a little torn
Want more pictures? I have hundreds of them... E-mail me, text me, call me
