Default 1977 Vega Pro Street, 408 LS 88mm Turbo, 2380 lbs Dana 60, Glide, Street legal

Year: 1977
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Volt
Price: $26900
Mileage: 250
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): UT
Color: Yellow
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive

1977 Vega Pro Car. Site does not have Vega listed in the Drop down so it just let me put this as a Volt...
This car was recently completed. The engine has about 200 miles on it for break in and street tuning purposes. Car weighs 2380 lbs. just as it sits in the pictures with the iron Block 408 LS, Dana 60 and Glide. I have the scale verification from when I weighed the car.

If you want an easy to drive and maintain legit single digit street car this will be the one. With the turbo 408 LS engine and the low weight this car will be easy on drivetrain parts and easy to maintain. It would be really tough or next to impossible to get a Camaro, Nova, Malibu or an LX Mustang based LS swap car down to this low of a weight especially considering that this car has an almost bulletproof DANA 60 in it. It has the Holley HP EFI system in it so it starts and drives very easy.

Here are some of the highlights of the car.
• Titled and licensed. This is a legit 7 or 8 second street car, turnkey. Runs mid 8’s @165 mph on low timing tune, easy launch and 20 lbs of boost. Launches and runs straight. Brakes work well.
• Chassis was certified to 8.50 this year, 2015. NHRA inspector said “that car has a great chassis. Chrome moly cage. Passes our local track tech inspection easily.
• Very street able and easy to drive. Starts right up and is great at low speeds and part throttle operation.
• Has lights, turn signals, brake lights.
• Professionally built chassis, Chrome moly cage
• All new engine and transmission as car was just completed. It only has a couple of test passes on it.
• 4- link rear suspension, Strange Strut Front end. Dana 60 rear end with Strange 35 Spline Axles and lightweight spool, 3.73 gears.
• Strange calipers on front, Wilwood calipers on back. Brakes work great
• Hughes Racing Powerglide Transmission w/ Pro Brake,
• PTC Race Converter built for the car and turbo combination
• Holley EFI HP engine management system with optional touch screen
• Analog Boost, Oil, and Trans Temp to complement the Holley Touch Screen
• Magna Fuel 750 fuel pump, regulator and -10 fuel lines. -8 return lines.
• 2 fuel cells connected in series for an 8 gallon capacity.
• Cross flow, dual pass aluminum radiator with extra custom dual pass aluminum radiator in rear under fuel tank. Car does not overheat during street driving.
• Fiberglass front end, doors and trunk lid. Lexan windows
• Large Deraille transmission cooler with separate fan. Has trans temp gauge
• Hurst Quarter Stick shifter
• Line lock
• High Dollar Rear aluminum wing
• Wheelie Bars and Chute. Wheelie bars are not currently installed.
• Remote battery shut off and external charging connector on back valence.
• New Alky Control Methanol injection system. Works great. Sensor light is on shift light by tach.
• AMS Boost Controller with CO2. Enables rock steady boost. I should have just used the Holley System with the EFI but that is an option for someone.
• Engine has less than 200 miles on it. Has been to 6500 rpms max during tuning cycles and first drag passes. I changed the oil after about 70 miles.
• 408 cubic inches. All parts except block were brand new
• LQ9 Iron block, bored with deck plates, decks were squared and mains were line bored
• ARP Main and Head studs
• K1 Forged Crankshaft and Rods with ARP2000 7/16 bolts
• L92/LS3 CNC ported heads with upgraded springs to accommodate camshaft
• LS9 Head gaskets
• Wiseco -15CC forged pistons
• Total Seal gapless Rings
• Tru Roller timing chain and gear set
• All new LS based sensors on engine.
• New LS7 Lifters
• Chrome Moly .080 pushrods
• New LS3 Rockers and base
• Camshaft by Martin @ Tick performance
• 235/240@.050 115LSA 109ICL 121ECL 235/240 .610"/.612" 115+6
• Corvette Bat-wing oil pan
• Borg Warner S400-HP88 Turbo T6 Divided flange 1.45 AR with a 88 compressor wheel and a 99mm turbine.
• High temperature coated reverse truck manifolds with coated 304 SS 2 1/2" hot side
• Tial 60mm Wastegate with extra springs.
• Tial BOV
• NW 102mm Throttle Body
• Victor Junior Intake
• Large intercooler with 3" piping[LIST]
SFI certified dampner and flex plate
The picture where it is doing a wheel stand was when it had an iron block V6 with a dry sump. It weighed 2030 with that combo. It weighs 2380 lbs with the iron block and the large frame BW turbo.
I have not had it on a dyno.
I bought the car as a roller out of California several years ago and it was professionally done. It is really a high quality build chassis.
The car runs really well and is very street able with the smaller turbo cam and rear end gears. It is always an attention getter at the cruises and the cars and coffee meets that I have been to.
You can easily display the MAP pressure and other gauges on the Holley Touch Screen and that is what I have been using.
The grill where I have cut out some openings needs to be finished by smoothing, sanding and repainting the area. It does not look very bad but to match the rest of the car it should have some attention. I have a quart of both colors of paint for the car.
This car is definitely an attention getter and will save you big dollars over building a car of this quality yourself or having someone do it for you.
It has a great forged engine, a strong, bulletproof Powerglide Trans and Converter and the Dana 60 rear end has a world class reputation for strength.
If you want a turnkey fast street car that can run with many of the top cars in the county, this is an easy way to get one and save you a ton of money over building one.

The reason I am selling this car is that we are moving and I need to get rid of some cars.

My loss will be your gain.

I will include a SFI fire suit, gloves, shoes, neck roll with sale if needed.

My Ebay feed back score is 100% with almost 500 transactions so I will treat you honestly and fairly with no stories.

Here is a link of a run with a no boost, no transbrake launch at about 7500 ft. DA. Low timing, medium boost tuning.

Default Reduced price to $26,900

Reduced Price to $26,900.

You could not duplicate a car like this for anywhere near that amount of dollars and have a low 8 second street car with a Dana 60, 4-link and a forged LS408.
