2006 Chevrolet Impala SS: LS4 V8 - $2600
Year: 2006
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Impala
Price: $2600
Mileage: 256000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): CA
Color: Black
Transmission: Automatic
Mods
- Modded GM SERTA transmission with TEP valve-body, long seal kit, Sonnax converter relief valve, Trans-Go Shift Kit and Precision torque converter.
- DiabLew Tuned - 275 WHP.
- Catless downpipe (stock downpipe with cat will be included and shipped in the trunk).
- Tons more, just ask!
Exterior:
- Body is straight. I did scrape the lower right front corner in a drive-thru about 4 years ago. This pushed the fender a tiny bit towards the rear of the car, so that when you open the front door, you get a slight rubbing (see pictures).
- Paint isn't great, but looks good after a detail. See pics for details.
- Nearly perfect.
- Engine runs strong. On really cold days, you might here the lifters for a few seconds, but it goes away quickly.
- Engine doesn't smoke or make any weird noises.
- Transmission shifts normally, with no slipping or "rev and clunk" issues.
- A/C blows cold and doesn't smell like skunk.
The Ugly
- Driver's side seat heater doesn't work.
- Navigation sometimes loses positional lock and needs a new antenna.
- Engine uses a quart of oil every 1500-2000 miles or so, depending upon conditions.
- No AM radio reception, as the replacement windshield that was installed does not have the antenna. FM and XM work fine, though.
- Passenger side blend-door actuator will occasionally click when switching the A/C to recirculate.
If you are in California, you must read and agree to the following:
The car is not currently smog legal (see mods above) and is for off-highway use only. If you buy this car, it will be sold with a Statement of Planned Non-Operation, along with the clean title. THIS MEANS THAT SMOG IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY if you intend to drive it on the street. To take possession of the car, I advise that you get it towed. If you plan to drive it home, you do so at your own risk, even though the registration is current and the tags are good through November 24, 2016.
If you're unsure about these terms, or have questions about smogging the car, please ask.

So what's the full story with the transmission? Im thinking this could be a good parts car for when my tranny surely blows up but only if the transmission is still gonna be reliable long term. How many miles on the tranny? Was it rebuilt etc etc.

Ok so after going through your posts it's about 170k on the tep upgraded tranny. Im thinking that's a bit too many miles to be long term reliable for what I'm needing even if it has TEP upgrades.
