Full Race LS7 GTO
Thought there might be a chance someone on here will be .
2004ish Pontiac GTO This is a pre-production car provided to us by G.M. for the Formula D series. This car has alot of history behind it as the Rhys Millen Formula D series champion a few years back. It currently wears Bridgestone lettering but may be more well known as a Red Bull car from previous seasons. This is a fully worked out race car, with a great spares package including a brand new G.M. Racing built LS6, upgraded T-56, a few rear diff including 3.4, 3.7, and 3.9 ratio with ".020 shimed Kazz LSD's. Spares also include some spare body work, spare MEFI ECU, spare wideband 02, a handfull of front and rear wheels, spare rear arms, spare subframes, and a second set of Tein coilovers.
Rhys is giving it away at $40,000 buyer take all. I am posting this as the crew chief of the car from last season, and fabricator of many of these parts, so i can tackle any tech question.
Current build list:
Engine: Factory built LS7 converted to wet sump with accu-sump.
60 lb injectors
long tube headers, into dual stainless 3", into spintech oval tube over axles with spintech muffler
MEFI ECU tuned on E85
Weldon inline pump, 1000 hp potential pump
Transmission: Race prepped and upgraded T-56
Exedy twin plate clutch with SFI flywheel
Driveshaft shop aluminum driveshaft
short throw shifter, modifed for 5,6, reverse lockout, with a turn of a screw
Chassis: Custom modified front and rear subframe... Rack moved to increase steering angle
Rear suframe modifed for adjustable rear pinion angle
custom front steering knuckles
Willwood ultralight brakes all the way around
front control arms heimed
rear control arms have been modified for proper camber and toe settings
driveshaft shop 1000hp rear axles with spares
K and W double adjustable coilovers all around, with a few spring choices
custom carbon fiber dash insert housing Racepack digital dash with gps and datalogging capability
Modified core support to fit carbon "World Challenge" intake
SCCA spec cage
Twin Sparco 5 point seats and belts
Carbon/glass fenders hood, trunk, front and rear bumber covers
Dry carbon adj. rear wing
The list goes on and on, if you have questions just ask and i'll answer as best i can.
Preseason testing photo
Without graphics, as you can see car has alot of potential even without sponsor signage
RMR GTO and Dia Yoshihara throwing it down.
LS7 going in
Fitting "World Challenge" air cleaner
LS7 straight from GM Racing
starting to mod rear subframe
New mounted adjustable rear diff, also fixes much of the wheel hop problems
Second angle of rear subframe halfway through fabrication.
Last year preseason strip down, still wearing redbull paint.
Rear brake setup...twin willwood calipers and solid rotor

P.S. There is quite a bit of fabrication, mods, parts not listed here but would take days to list. If you are interested just ask a question and i'll let you know.

Amazing car and I have seen it in action myself a few times and talked to Rhys @ Road Atlanta about it. Him and Dia both did a great job in the car, hate to not see it out there next year (arent they both going to Hyunda?). His new ride looked mean at SEMA.

Well i appreciate the kudos my man. Unfortunately Dia will not be with us next year, he signed a deal to drive a Lexus for Falcon next year. However i did build Rhys's ride for next year. Happy to say that car is currently being stripped and prepped to serious race specs, as the car you saw was just a "show car". P.S. left the shop today and sounds like car may be bought and ready to run in a Canadian drift series???
