Elemental Design subs w/ Lanzar Vibe 235 amp (subs installed in stock mids location)
17" Enki wheels with 275/40/17's - all 4 tires (about 4k miles on them) Falken ZIEX 512s
Aeroforce Interceptor Gen II Scan Gauge (GM OBD-II vehicles) - reads in real time 15+ computer readings (ignition timing, water/transmission temp readings, OBD error codes, can reset the codes etc.)
B&M external transmission cooler
TCI shift kit, transmission pan drain plug installed
New a/c hoses, o-rings, a/c system serviced and re-charged in 05/2008
New fuel pump assembly installed 06/2008 along with new fuel pump resistor level (fuel gauge readings are perfect)
Access door cut-out for easy fuel pump maintenance/upgrades
Additional sound deadener installed in the back to reduce road noise
Custom tuned using HPTuners (stock and custom tunes files are available). Currently the car is tuned for best mileage with higher timing in torque converter locked position in over-drive (15-16 mpgs in town, 20-22 highway)
UPDATE: installed new Hawk break pads and disk rotors in the front (5-15-2009), 2 new front bearing hubs (5-30-2009), new brake caliper assemblies (6-13-2009), new OEM break pads in the back, new rear rotors (6-22-2009).
The car originally was purchased off this site 2 years ago. It used to be stock, as you can see, a lot of things have happened to it :-) since then.
The car was dynoed 396hp/362tq on a DynoJet after all the above upgrades. The dynojet slip is available. The car has been very well tuned: it starts fine in cold weather, idles at 800 rpms and does not buck. The registration is valid till April 2010. The a/c blows cold, the engine doesnt overheat. The stock fans kick in at 180F. It is a reliable car that I drive every day to work. Hooker cat-back produces a deep throaty sound. The car is a blast to drive. The title is clean. The car has never seen racing track or abused. Synthetic oil has been used all its life in my possession.
The car has its imperfections: front bumper is slightly pitted from rocks (common for GM cars for this generation), z28 glue-on plastic sticker on drivers side can be replaced (missing a few letters), the rims show their age, the passenger side window motor is slow rolling the window up and down (there is a kit available which fixes this issue by putting a relay to provide more juice to the window motor).
If the future owner would like to take the car to the racing track, Id recommend to retune it for a better WOT performance (less timing and more aggressive shift points). The contact information for the local tuner is available.
The price is $7,000. The car test-drive can be arranged if you are a serious buyer. Id hate wasting time for both of us. More pictures can be found at: http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c1/darom/1998_z28/
The reason for sale is abundance of vehicles (5). I am working on restoring a Datsun 280z hot rod. If you would like more car pictures, let me know - I can upload more.
Cell ph. (six six one) three one nine-3685 (till 9:30 p.m. PST), ask for Denis. Thanks.
PS I posted this car on the craigslist as well (it will expire in 30 days):
