2000 Onyx Black Camaro SS M6 w/hugger orange stripes
40,300 miles
The lowdown: This car is on its third larger displacement motor. This motor has started to experience oil blow-by, if you are at WOT for a bit at high rpm, it will produce a pretty good oil cloud. I am debating not messing with it anymore and just dumping it as is-- I will price the car as if the block is gone, but you may be able to (and probably will ) salvage it with a piston ring. A new crank and rods while you are in there, and you can have an all forged 422cid.
Pricing:
--The car currently has over $28k of mods in it (listed below).
--Kbb/edmunds say the car is $13k-14k base value in good condition (I would consider it very good, paint is good, a few chips/scratches, otherwise paint is high gloss in excellent shape). I'll say starting value of $12k
--The shortblock was $5100. I'll just drop that right off the asking price.
So, $12k + lets say 39% of the mod prices, minus $5k for block (~$9000) - $5100 = $16k OBO and its yours.

a couple of other notes:
--The heads flow 330cfm at 600 lift, I have a flow sheet for them
--The car has a super light weight spool in it now -- I do have the posi unit which can be rebuilt if you do not want the spool in there.
--510rwhp dyno was done through the posi rear, ET streets, with exhaust.
--clutch, trans, motor all have less than 2500 miles on them.
--the car is obviously still driveable and still pulls like a train, but I wouldnt recomend it until the smoking issue is resolved. Honestly, I kinda threw my hands up in the air, it may not even be the block, but thats what I suspect.
I would definately consider a trade for the car. Your car would have to be cheaper and much closer to stock -- I just dont want to dump any more money into this project but I still would like an LS1 car.

The car is very streetable, it idles nice, cruises nice, but it does have a spool in it right now for the rear. This means that it clunks around the corners on slow speed turns, for example if you are making 90 degree turns in the parking lot. I do have the posi unit to rebuild, its not in the car because it broke at the track and I go paranoid and replaced it with the spool. This is really the only thing that makes it not super streetable...I do drive it on the street all the time though.
The smoke is from oil blowby I believe:
"This motor has started to experience oil blow-by, if you are at WOT for a bit at high rpm a pretty good oil cloud". The motor has some definate issue -- if it was intact I would sell it for $21k not $16k. It may be minor, but it may not be. In any case you can buy a 402 LS2 block for under $4k nowadays, worst case scenario, some tweaking on the tuning and you are good to go, or you may be able to fix this block. I personally do not want to spend more money on the car at this point if I can avoid it.

Which Eagle rods are in there right now? Which crank? Do both sets of wheels/tires come with the car? Is the motor making any abnormal valvetrain or bearing noise? Any signs of metal in the oil?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I am not sure which eagle rods, I will check (actually I thought they only made one type for the LS1s until you asked that)
The crank is offset ground OEM crank.
Both sets of wheels will come with the car if I get my asking price in cash, if you want the car for less that is one of the first things we could back out because I do have a buyer for them.
The motor/valvetrain is/was not making any abnormal noises. I changed the oil twice and it looks clean.

I think im gonna get the car fixed. Ive been driving it around and if I dont stay in the upper rpm band too long it seems ok. Nice solid chirp on the 3-4 shift the other night, the car doesnt seem to have lost any power. Im hoping its something minor I can fix.
