Default FS: Custom sandrail w/SBC350.TH350 longtravel suspension

I'm thinking about selling the dune buggy since some stuff has come up and I need some money. The spec list on everything is endless but here's a little about it

Frame/Drivetrain:
custom built by myself and my buddy Zach
14" Racerunner coilovers in the front
custom 12" coilovers in the back
1968 Camaro 8.5" limited slip rearend with stock 3.73's
GenI sbc350 bored .040 over with all new/machined internals
fresh rebuilt turbo 350 with a 2400 rpm stall. custom shift kit by 3D automatic transmissions
B&M quarter stick shifter/billet aluminum
hayden trans cooler
custom built fuel cell (approx 16.x gallons)
RCI 5-point harness (aren't currently installed)
4-Link rear suspension with 3/4" heims all around
front A-arms are custom built with 2" poly bushings
front spindles are disc brake off a 94 s10 blazer
rear tires are 31" boggers on 15x10 soft 8's
all autometer ultra-lite gauges
painless circuit block
lots more one-off custom parts

motor:
4-bolt main 1970's high nickel block
stock iron truck crank out of a 1975 350
stock connecting rods from the same 75 block
block is bored .040 over, all journals were cleaned, cam journals were honed, as well as main journals.
crank was machined to match connecting rods
pistons are flat top sealed power hypereutectic 4.040"
camshaft is a generic brand 234/234 .512/.512
heads are 882 castings with brand new valves/seals/springs/hardware
carb is a 600cfm edelbrock that's virtually brand new, the buggy has only been driven maybe a total of 6 hours
hooker longtube headers
OEM replacement fuel pump
brand new waterpump
brand new alternator
custom alternator bracket
brand new harmonic balancer
brand new TCI flexplate
brand new oreilly's starter
intake is a dual plane corvette 1973 manifold
180* stat
chrome valve covers
chrome waterneck
all fuel lines are stainless steel with AN fittings.
battery is a optima redtop
seats are reclined summit hard plastic racing seats

There's so many other parts I can't list them all. The sandrail was built is a project last year for school and we haven't really been able to use it much at all. The motor runs very strong and is quite stout.

I have over $12,000 into the whole dune buggy and all the parts including extra springs for the dual rate coilovers up front.

I'd like to get around $7,000 obo for everything I have for it.

Everything is in good working order, and the motor starts up just fine with a good charge on the battery. The buggy has been in storage on the side of my house/in my driveway for the past 4 or 5 months now under a large tarp to keep out the rain.
The paint has some surface rust here and there, but there is no rust through at all. The only flaw with the sandrail is the steering. Since it's such a long wheelbase and is very wide (over 85" track width up front) the rack and pinion allows for minimal turning radius. It's perfect for the beach or mud, but it's not very streetable.
I'd be more than happy to show the dune buggy to anyone whenever its convenient to them. I really need to sell it since I've got school, 2 jobs, and a business that keeps getting busier.

Here's some pictures I have on my computer currently of the dune buggy's fabrication stages and the completed stage.

backside view of 4-link and a-arms

motor after assembly

motor installed into chassis waiting for accessories

view over the fuel cell looking at the center console and gauge clusters, sorry for the mess, it was crunch time to get the electrical all done before the project had to be done and entered into contest

view of the engine bay while installing all the accessories and plumbing

more pictures to come, I need to dig around some more on this computer to get em out.

I'm willing to ship it anywhere in the US as long as the buyer pays shipping. It fits on a standard car trailer.

if there's any questions at all about the buggy you can email me : jake@brownlures.com or call 281-702-3064

thanks,

jake

thanks for the comments, it is fun as hell but it's hard finding a buyer here in the south since there's not a lot of dunes. if it doesn't sell online on message boards I'm going to list it on eBay so I can actually sell it.

merry christmas guys,

jake

the buggy or the roadster?

buggy I was guessing maybe a high 12 or 13 as it is right now. the motor is pretty strong. I would be generous to say its getting more than 250 to the wheels. with the 31" boggers it wouldn't be too quick, but put a set of slicks on there and that'd make for a badass 60'. its about 2k pounds with me in it. that's just a guess, its probably more like 1700 or so. the bare frame is 250 lbs. all 1.625"x.120" wall DOM tubing, spec ASTM1516 (Im pretty sure thats it, it mighta been 1243 though).

the roadster:I dunno what it runs, he's never run it. its pretty quick though. i'd guess a mid 13 at its best
