Default 1999 Mustang Cobra for sale

I'm selling this for a friend. He has a 99 Mustang Cobra that's black on black. It has 88,000 miles. He was told that it has cams in it. This car is very fast probably the fastest car I've riden in. Has a new clutch and flywheel with a recent tune up. I think he's looking to get $12,500 obo because that's what he still owes on it. e-mail him at deathroe_40@hotmail.com if you are interested or have any questions.

you would be able to tell if it has new cams in it, but thats pretty rare to have someone do a cam swap in these cars and not supercharge it. a cam swap can get pretty pricey on these bc they are DOHC motors, 2 cams over each head = 4 cams. bump for ya tho

Any idea of the specs? Does it have Comp springs? Do you know who installed them? Does it pull stock vacuum? If not, how much vacuum does it pull at idle?

Thanks.

i honestly have no idea...i just know the car has had work done to it before i got it...i doubt it pulls stock vacuum but i dunno...i know that when you romp on it, it sounds like a supercharger but not as loud...and my buddies cobra has a list of mods to it and i still eat him alive...perhaps you would know why my car is so much faster...i just figured it would be those cams....let me know if you can

Nope, I have no clue (and there is no way aftermarket cams can make it sound like a supercharger). But I do have some advice - get some more information on what is done to the car.

well the person who had it before me didnt know too much about cars or what he was having done to the car (youd have to see this guy) but he didnt give me much info on the car when i bought it...and i suppose that since you know so much about them that youd be able to explain why my car sounds supercharged when it in fact is not...

Yes but a cammed cobra should be able to pull on bolton LS1s....

By the way how much is a cam setup in those cars?

You know. you could have a big gear in it?

Maybe it has a very large aftermarket throttle body?

I was just saying that alot of members on here give the Stang drivers **** anyway, and we definitely dont need sigs like that to worsen our case lol. But yeah a cammed Cobra should be beating bolt-on LS1's, but if I remember correctly there was a thread about this car getting beat by a stock WS6 in the Kills section. Slick1851, my friend got a quote for Stage 3 blower cams for his 04 Mach 1, and after all the parts/labor/install it was gonna be right at 7k. So I would say any cam setup is gonna be in the 4-7k range depending on what is included.

Well when that happened it had a bad clutch and flywheel that have been replaced and there was a miss in the engine that was discovered when the clutch and flywheel were replaced. And I really don't think that WS6 was stock at all.

**** 3 grand plus! Now I know why all mustangs are either turbo or SC

Thats why your kits for things run a cheaper than LS1 kits, more people buy them

that ws6 is definitely not stock...i mean i know that ls1 are potent motors but that car was a rocket...it was one of the two cars ive ever lost to...the other being a s/c 6.0 GTO...and i know that a cammed cobra should be beating bolton ls1's its just the fact that nobody seems to believe what were saying about those cams...the guy who had it before me lived in the Chicago suburbs and wasnt exactly hurting for money it didnt seem like so i wouldnt doubt if he just started throwing money into the car...who knows...
