I really would have appreciated you informing me that not only did you not have a title to the car, but that the registration was in someone else's name BEFORE I drove 350 miles from Phoenix to Fullerton to pick up the car. That's important info to disclose. I hope your next potential buyer is better informed than I was.

California DMV says it's in my name, but I appreciate the lack of knowledge when attempting to purchase a car. Thanks for the kind words. It takes time to receive a title and perhaps some people are just unaware that in California, it does take time to get it in the mail, unlike what some are familiar with (i.e AZ- Where the title is given on the spot). I have sold numerous cars on ls1tech, and have actually had maybe 1 or 2 tangible titles in hand, and had you come during a weekday, there would have been a DMV or AAA open. Things would have not been an issue.

I apologize for not thinking it would be an issue, since it never has been in the past. Thank you for coming to look at my car and I am glad you got home safely.

Also, I have to make a honorable mention for me not making a mistake as well. I don't know what I was thinking taking a cashier's check from an out of state party and not having a bank or anything else to verify issuance. I appreciate you not picking up the car, it was obviously uncomfortable for both of us. Letting someone drive off with your car without having the tangible full amount of cash in hand is never a good idea and I of all people should know that rule.

Thanks and happy buying and selling - SAFELY!

Take care.
Then why did you call me and tell me that the guy's wife who it's registered to had the title sitting in front of her? I feel like I have gotten several different stories from you about what the status was. Not once while I was there did you tell me that it was in your name.

Regardless, if the title and/or registration are not in your name, that is something that should be disclosed up front. I think any rational person on this forum would agree that when 1) The title is "in the mail" to the PREVIOUS owner, 2)the previous owner is not available to meet in person, and 3) the forms that must be signed AND notarized (according to the guy we both talked to at the dealership - and stated on ADOT's web site as a requirement for title transfers) are not notarized, that I was completely justified in feeling uncomfortable with the situation. I'm not saying that you are lying about anything, I just don't appreciate there being surprises like that, especially when you specifically told me on the phone that you didn't want there to be any surprises. We obviously have different opinions about what is important to disclose, and I'm sure that I won't convince you otherwise. Good luck with the sale.

It shows true character to post what you did. It's noted Chris. Thank you

Anyone interested in the scenario is more than welcome to PM and ask, or call and ask.

It does show my true character. I held up my end of the deal. I did exactly what I told you I was going to do. I wish that I could say I was treated with the same respect.
