Well, I had an offer yesterday for 6,500. I thought a wrecked Firehawk was worth more than a wrecked TA or Camaro. At the end of last year a friend of mine bought a wrecked/striped TA for 6500 to put the ls1/Automatic swap in a 1986 Monte Carlo SS. Mine is a 6 speed, one of 127 made in that convination, also the value almost doubles the TA when buying a low miles good one... I guess I was wrong. I know my car is wrecked, but never thought it only had scrap/swap value being a specialty car. Thank you guys for the offers and the input and good luck with your cars.

ps. Since this cars are not worth much on this site, any of you guys have a good 98-02 TA front clip for sale? if posible with dash and air bags. I don't need anything from the doors back. Judging by the offers I had it should be dirt cheap, but I will be reasonable and pay a fair price.

yes, visually the car only needs a front clip. but, based on the pictures i would be willing to bet that the impact from that accident tweaked the chassis. A powerplantfrom a specialty vehicle isn't worth extra lol an 01 ls1 is an 01 ls1 I would take the 6500 offer and run with it

I was not selling the powerplant, I was selling a complete, low miles, documented fixable car.

Like others have said here, that car was hit hard and has a lot of unseen damage. It will likely have a lot of little problems that will haunt it for a long time. I would take the 6.5 offer and run if I were you.
Why are you selling it instead of fixing it and keeping it anyway? Did the guy that hit you have insurance?

"About this Current Vehicle:

Well on 03/10/08 my Hawk got nailed! Some guy not paying attention to the road, try to evade a stoped CRV in front of him, jumped on my lane after barely clipping the CRV and hit me head on. Their insurance company totaled paid it off to the bank and gave me enough for sodas... and I kept the salvage. Smile Hopefuly I will get a title from the bank soon, so I can do something with it. "

Yes, he had insurance and they paid off the bank and with the rest of the money I bought the salvage from them with the condition I would get a clean title. I got a CLEAN TITLE, but the car needs the frame pulled forward, it would need to be fix at a good collision shop, can't be done it in the back yard. I thought I may be able to fix it soon, but can't afford to do it at the moment, have to many things going on at the same time that are more important than the car. The only reason I posted here is because I thought someone may be interested in rebuilding it and drive a low miles Hawk instead of spending 25k in another one. For someone looking for a drivetrain to put in their Toyota truck, it would be cheaper to buy a salvage with an LS drivetrain.

Take that $6500 offer and run. Wrecked = wrecked, and being a Firehawk doesn't help that cause. A non-wrecked stock T/A is worth more than a wrecked Firehawk anyday.

You'd be better off parting it out. You might get $4000 for it as-is.

Why would I get $4k if I was already offered 6500? If I was going to part it out, I would use the parts myself, I just don't want to salvage it. By the way, a low retail Hawk is just $1200 less than a high retail WS6 and $9000 more if it was high retail. Check NADA.com I know mine is wrecked and because of that it will not be a high retail car again, but it still worth fixing. I know there's a buyer out there, I will try ebay. Thanks for your opinions....

Dude seriously.. I feel u on wanting to get some $$ out of the car, but if you have this many people telling you the EXACT same thing and a mod steppin in to tell you that your asking too much... U REALLY need to take a second look and have someone that KNOWs what their doing come out and tell you how much u should ask for the car. I'm not tryin to bust your ***** here but get real man... U can get a almost dam good lookin Firehawk on here for a HELL of alot less than ur asking + the 5-10k plus that it will take to fix it.

By the time you got done w/ that car, you'd have anywhere from 13000 to 25000 in it. Not to include the "little" stuff later. Been there done that.

OK since I do math everyday I guess I'll have to explain it to you:

8000+5000 = 13000 (lowend)
8000+10000 = 18000 (Guestimation average)

U can get a clean *** hawk on here for about 15k and never even touch it... It would not be money smart for ANY body to do it ... unless u owned a body shop with all of the required equiptment at your fingertips.

Thanks.

I too believe a more reasonable price, and that thing will dissappear from you a.s.a.p. I live in ky and would be intersted in getting the car if it came down a few $$$

Also keep in mind a rebuilt title car is worth 50% of value to most people UNLESS they just had to have a certain kind of car.

These cars really tear up framework easily. I have parted out 4 in two years. Doesn't seem like much but I have seen cars that I was going to sell as "Fixable" turn into worthless bodies once the sheetmetal was removed.

If you car was totaled out by and insurance company there is no way it has a clean title. They dont get to make that choice its the state. You bought the car back which means it has a salvage title take that 6500 and run away fast..
