I wouldn't say it's a joke, you can buy a 1993 Mazda RX-7 for under $8,500. You can get the motor for around $2,000 and trans for another $750 IF even that high. Why this is priced so high is beyond me, but I'd still like to see the guy happy with the sale and where it ends up selling at.

You can get a T56 with an LS7 clutch for $750? lol
Not to mention the motor has H/C/I...
And did you fail to see the CCW's (given they are extra)?
Plus you have to factor in for the swap kit, they arent free... Hinsonsupercars.com
Plus all the hard work is done and its white! Not Montego or red...
Try to put one together like this with similar mods yourself starting with a $8500 rx7 and see if you don't go well past $19K... The parts aren't cheap, and even if doing all your own labor you'll find its very easy to get nickel and dimed by everything throughout the build.
Bump for an amazing looking car with a nice set up!

Curious as to what the weight of the car is (if you know)? Also, is there any chance of fitting A/C in the car? Doesn't look like it, but you would know better than I. Thanks!

guys relax the price is what it is. 6 months ago these were selling for 25-30k easy. Im not trying to rip anyone off. Blue book on a stock rx7 is still around 16k in this condition....dont know the exact weight but should be around 3k on the dot without driver and yes a/c is easily intalled. This car is even wired to have the a/c put back in and work with the gm ecu. Thanks! bump.

You could definitely build your own LS1 FD for less than what he's asking, but I bet you would save a ton of money if you built your house yourself too. I'm not sure what he was asking when you posted, if it was 32k I'd have to agree that's insane, especially when it doesn't have A/C or P/S BUT everytime I see clean swaps like this the asking price is usually in that area so he's definately not crazy.
19k though is a really good price though considering the year/color/mileage of the chassis. I sold my bolt on 94' for 13.5k a year ago and it had 147k on the chassis and 30k on the rebuilt rotary.
Bump what's pretty much the best thing to come out of Japan with what's pretty much the best thing to come out of America at a great price

just curious, but does this mean that people who've spent $30-50k on top of an Fbody can now start asking $40-80k for theirs? ie. http://tinyurl.com/d3qjfy
As for the LS1 FD, how much do you think he spent on making the car? His price is on par with others I've seen for sale and its got some very nice additional parts on it. If you're implying that it cost half that to build it and he's just trying to turn a big *** profit I'd guess thats more than likely not the case unless someone gave him a free roller or he got it insanely cheap (They aren't exactly dime a dozen for a clean stock bodied roller these days)and bought his swap kit used and the motor practically given to him.
I dunno, maybe I'm just partial to LS1 powered FD's and white cars in general? But I've been following these builds for the last 4 years or so and from what I've gathered on what most people spend putting thier cars together and what most sell for his price isn't that bad at all...
Anyway, Seller: Good luck with the sale, sory to keep posting in your thread, but Free bump, and I love the car, just too broke to even consider it.

Buy the guys car, make an offer, or shut-up and go build one with the $11,250 budget you've laid out.

I'm not sure where you were coming from on this comment, the link was to a 29K mile 2001 trans am with a fully forged motor, heads, cam, turbo kit, fuel system, and he was asking $19.5K... That's not asking anything close to $40-80K for it... In my mind his price is reasonable especially considering the miles on the car...

Thats besides the point, how many RX7's do you think there are? Besides that how many LS1 converted RX7's do you think there are (its just under 14,000)? Now how many Trans Am's do you think are out there (in 99 alone there were over 16,000)? Not to mention the fact that a clean RX7 roller will sell for about the same price as a decent running TA...
Sure the TA has some nice mods, but this is comparing apples to oranges...
Would I love to own either car, damn right...
And you don't account for labor when you go to sell a car, you generally get back about 1/3 of the price you pay for any major mods anyway...
Research the LS1 powered FD price range for a running swapped car and you'll see I'm not just talking out of my ***.
On the other hand, You can pick up a stock early model SC300 for around $4000, yet the 2jzgte swapped SC300's consistantly sell for $15,000+
The type of car, motor combo, mods, are all situational to the ammount of money thats usually asked for it at the time of sale...
Look how much you can get a SN95 mustang with a forged motor and turbo/blower... dirt cheap, how many SN95 mustangs are out there? A ton...
