My Father has owned this car since March, 2000. It has been a central Florida car since new. It was purchased new at Fischer Oldsmobile in Titusville FL. The original owner owned the car until 1992, then sold to the second owner. I have been told that both of the previous owners were elderly couples that used the car as they wintered in Florida. It was originally white with the standard half vinyl top that was so popular in the 80's. It also was originally equipped with the traditional wire wheel hubcaps.
The car had a minor fender bender, so it was time for the original paint to be redone. The front header panel and bumper were replaced. The entire car was stripped to bare metal and repainted with base coat/clear coat paint in GM Galaxy Silver Pearl Metallic. The body was extremely clean and rust free with the exception of a small area just above the drivers side rear window. This area was cut out, sandblasted and new metal welded in place. The inside of the entire roof was coated with POR-15 while disassembled.
We have also rebuilt the sunroof with NOS cables and replaced the tracks and drip pan. We also replaced the headliner, installed a new Alpine CD with remote, alarm system with keyless entry and miscellaneous repairs and maintenance.
The car drives and rides great. The air blows nice and cold. The brakes have been done with rotors replaced and rear wheel cylinders rebuild. The carb has been rebuilt as well. Since it has not been driven much in the last several years, it does need some small issues corrected as such as valve cover gaskets, shocks, belts etc.
I really need to part with this car. I had planned on doing a retro-rod type of thing with this car, but plans and priorities have forced a change of direction for me right now. Car is in Orlando FL. Asking $4500, but will consider any offer.
