Default 83 Grand Prix 475hp + 175 shot

Description: 1983 Pontiac Grand Prix, 475HP Small Block, 175HP Nitrous Street/Strip car $3800 firm.

Block: 1991 K1500 block. 4 Bolt, 1 Piece Rear Main. Bored .010 over. TRW forged flat top pistons (balanced +/- 2 grams), Summit 4340 H-Beam full floating rods balanced +/- 1 gram. Crank turned .010 under for oversized bearing. High volume/low pressure oil pump with pick welded in place.

Heads: Originally redone by Indian Head Porting Company. 62cc chambers, 2.05 Intake, 1.60 Exhaust. Valve guides redone, Edelbrock Sure Seat valve springs. Full port and polish. Flow charts available

Valve train: Comp Cams 292H Magnum cam. 292/292 duration, 501/501 lift. Matching Hydraulic lifters. Double roller timing with cam walk kit installed. 2-piece timing cover. Summit aluminum roller rockers

Air/Fuel: Edelbrock Performer RPM Air gap intake. Holley 4150 series – 700 double pump (with dual 63cc accelerator pumps installed) manual choke. Holley “blue” fuel pump, replaced factory tank. NOS Super Power Shot Nitrous Plate system (low fuel pressure cut out installed, micro switch installed, main power with ground fault relay installed), bottle has some left in, 3 sets of jets.

Exhaust: Afterburner headers. Custom exhaust including custom “X” cross over, notched and reinforced transmission cross member for true duals, 2 Flowmaster 50 series mufflers.

Ignition: MSD 6AL box, Mallory Uni-Lite Billet distributor, mechanical advance, optical pick-up. MSD Blast 2 coil and ballast.

Transmission: TH350, B&M shift kit/clutch packs installed. Valve body honed and re-sleeved – full manual control, custom built stall converter. External cooler, pan cooler (tube through design). B&M Quicksliver ratchet shifter (with T-handle/nitrous button installed)
Rear end: Auburn Posi carrier, Richmond 3.73 gears.

Other: Mr Gasket blower scoop (carb would’t clear hood, didn’t want to buy new hood, had scoop from other project lying around). Thermostatically controlled electric fan, vacuum brake boost can, battery relocated to truck. Fluid filled dampener. Air shock suspension installed.

Interior: Auto Meter phantom white gauge set (5” tach and speedo, fuel level, engine temp, voltage, oil pressure, all mounted into factory dash locations) no headliner or dome light, no radio – speakers still there, original bench seats in “ok” shape.

Exterior: Cragar SS/T rims (15x7 fronts, 15x10 rears) Eagle GT II tires (radial)- factory size front, 295/55R15 rears. Never wrecked. Painted 8 years back, some rust spots and spots where body filler is coming off (use to be half back vinyl, got removed and filled flat about 8 years ago and wasn’t done that great)

Known problem: wipers don’t work (I never drove it when the ground was damp let alone raining), about 1 month ago the throttle return spring broke – will be replacing, fuel line has a crack/leak – will be replacing. Could use new plugs.

All work done by me except dyno (sheets available for engine), head flow test (sheets available), and custom exhaust (don’t have tube bender). My background: Bachelor’s in Auto Tech, ASE Certified Master Automotive tech. Ran own business for 5 years, worked in many shops. References available.

Notes: requires minimum 91 octane gas, not recommended as daily driver due to constant monitoring and tuning of this type of engine. All lights work so it can be driven on street at your risk.
Asking $3800.00 to break even on motor. Package is worth 4 times as much parted but I don’t have the time. I move about every two years and tired of moving it around the country, also don’t really have time for it much more. Engine has roughly 400 miles on it (barely broken in). Clean title, plates expired couple months back and I have not renewed- hoping to sell first. Will trailer to within 120 miles of my location. Can be driven away if you want to pay for the gas.
