Default FS: Modified 1996 Pontiac Trans Am

Selling a Polo Green 96 TA with Tan Leather interior. Its a fully loaded car with everything that came on one in 96. Monsoon stereo system with added amp and 10" sub. Odometer shows 89717 on the body but everything in the drivetrain has less miles on it. Everything from the doors forward have been freshy painted and also the rear bumper. The rest of the car has been buffed and of course Zaino has been applied. Motor is a fresh 355 build with a lightweight rotating assembly. It currently has abut 20 miles on it. After a few more break in miles it will go for a dyno tune. This car was in GM High tech for the bolt on LT1 shootout. It also was the first bolt on LT1 in the 11s. Heads and cam were added and had a best run of 11.2 @ 121 while still tuning the combination in to get it to its max potential. A little mishap with a spark plug caused some scoring of the cyl. and it was taken off the track until the new bottom end could be built and installed. The cam has been changed from the previous setup because it was too peaky so the new Futral cam should be delivering more hp under the curve. Asking 9500, details below.

Negatives about the car
* Carpet is cut for a bolt in Wolf cage that is no longer in the car. The front and rear mats cover up the holes cut but the deck holes are exposed where you can see them.

Gears have some whine to them.

Thats about all I can think of at this time. Please feel free to contact with any questions by pm here or email to herrint at yahoo.com. I have some quick pictures but plan on taking better ones to show the true condition of the paint. You won't be disappointed with this car and its a true must see car to fully appreciate what it is.

Put some new wheels on. They are C5 Z06 Motorsports 17/18 with 265/40-17 and 295/35-18s.

KBB list suggested retail at 7700 for this car. It would take 7-8000 to duplicate the mods without the fresh paint on over 50% of the car. So your getting the mods penny's on the rolled. Some people asked why it was painted. It wasn't wrecked just the bumpers were faded and the hood has some clear coat problems. Hood and bumpers were media blasted. We sprayed the front fenders/side spoilers to blend the paint.

It was one of many cars in the bolt on lt1 shootout hosted by Gm High Tech. It was an invitation only event and was in english town new jersey. It was also when Steve Stumph owned it and he placed 3rd in the shootout. He sold it to me recently when his job carries him around the country so he couldn't work on it. I put the new motor in it and painted it. Hell, I basically built the car when steve owned it also as we were always working on each others cars helping each other out. Then we would go to the track and try to beat each other..lol. It was fun racing back then.

after this article it went on to run 11.9 with bolt ons only and still a pig at 3550ish race weight.

Am I way off here or something. Is it the stall scaring people off? The car is a runner and a very nice street car. Slapping in a smaller stall and putting the A/C back on would make a difference. Feedback is welcome.

I still have that issue of GMHTP ironically. Getting the A/C back in is a definite +.

It's summer time...probably the ONLY reason it is slow to sell and hard to get asking prices. It is very clean and all there. If you want to work on it and change the stall back out just for fun I would, but it kind of helps with the package to leave it like it was in my opinion. Unless someone comes to you asking for more of a streetable car or something, I think I would wait and leave it. Maybe put the a/c back in...just my thoughts.

Bump for a very well done, clean T/A.

No trades right now. I have too many cars as it is. If I ever thought of it I would want basically a cheap stock driver that gets good gas milage.

Damon, I still have it somewhere..lol.

Creeping..thanks man. I'm happy with the way it turned out. People are really missing out on a great car. I hate to change it but I have to thing appealing to more people.

car has ac back on and a 2800 Vig Lock up converter. Also swapped some 1.6 pro mags in place of the 1.52s. Original listing updated.
