Default Re-installing AIR and EGR

Hey, i ordered a set of pacesetter LTs and a TSP x pipe. The headers are race style with no EGR or AIR. My question is, since i will have to delete them to have the headers there, when i have to pass smog again, is it possible to re-install the AIR and EGR? If so, how easy is it? Thanks

you will have to go back to stock exhaust manifolds as LTs wont pass smog. you can leave the pump in and hooked up, just take off some components (like the hard lines going to the manifolds) and reinstall them when its time for smog.

or you can just go to a place that wont do a visual. you can pass without the AIR, its only on when the engine is cold, but the cats need to be warm anyway to pass smog.

the minute you relocate the cats even one inch up or down its over. Might as well take off the Air system. California laws dont let you move the cats at all.
Its horrible. Only legal headers are shorties. with CARB#

oh, i know that. My plan is to reinstall the factory manifolds and take the LTs and x pipe off, as well as putting the y pipe and stock catback back on. The problem is, if i decide to take off the EGR and AIR, since i got the race style headers, then will i have to tune them out, and if so, could i tune them back in? also, could i get away with a handheld for that or do i need a laptop and software?

I doubt a Handheld tuner can tune that out. You have to get a custom tune i believe. If they tune it out im sure they can tune it back in.

If you take the Air system off it will give u an SES light.

Yes sir. I used to tune out my air, egr, and rear o2's.
And if you have any questions or need help, check out the diablosport forums. they are VERY helpful.

if you were planning on reinstalling just the EGR, you should have got the EGR version with block-off plates. There wont be anywhere to hook the pipe from the egr valve to the header, it will just be laying there.
