same here, I'm trying to get a head off and can't get it off because of a coolant line.... this is so I can take the head to the machine shop before they close for the holidays.

no the line that runs from head to head on back of engine (LT1). Part of the greatness of LT1 reverse cooling. This had to have been the ingenuity of the same idiot that decided to put the opti under the water pump.

Step 1. Cut the pipe
Step 2. Buy my LT1 long block (coolant pipe and banjo bolts included) for $100.

That might not be a bad idea,
I wouldn't mind having another block to start building another engine while still driving my car, then when ready just make the swap.
