For those of you guys that have HID kits for your cars do the cops make a big deal about them???? Thinking about getting a 12000k kit for mine.

Generally they don't make a big deal over just headlights, but if they are aimed improperly and really shining upwards towards the faces of oncoming drivers, you're gonna rise your chances of getting pulled over obviously.

BTW, the lower the Kelvin rating, the more visibility you gain. The kits that look good and gain a lot of visibility are 4300-8000K. 12000K is a deep purplish color with a hint of white. Either way, no matter what you choose, HIDs are damn bright.

That's good news but man those purple lights are the ones that I don't want. I want the deep blue ones. I made a mistake they're the 10000K. So I guess I'll just ask my gf for the money and buy them. So nobody has had problems with the cops???

I've had my HID on for just over a year and have never been hassled by the cops, or other drivers flashing me with their brights. I do have mine pointed down a bit, and I'm running 10000K bulbs.

I have 6500 fogs and 8000k headlights and have never had a cop say anything about them even when getting pulled over but if they arent aimed right, like what was said already, your going to have problems with drivers AND cops.

Where'd you get your lights from and where'd you get them installed?

You should probably stay away from the Bluesish or blue lights because they tend to get more attention. Regular white or blueish white will give more of a stock look. I have projector on mine and they give it that stock look and light is greatly increased.

These are stock projector and HID's from a Beamer, that i modified to fit. They were less the $200 bucks.

I got mine from LED Gauges, they were/are a sponsor here. They were really pricey though but the guy is good about returns. ( I sent back a bad ballast w/no problem) I installed them myself in a few hours, fogs and low beams both. I wouldnt got higher than 8000, that has the perfect tint w/out being too blue or purple.

8k all the way, the only thing your going to see with the 12k is the street signs, anyone that knows hid's will tell you 12k is too purple for the lows, maybe the highs but not the lows

wow i thought about doing this just for the fact the light beam would be crisper and accurate, i would love to see your car at night to compare vs mine, are you going to that motorgen meet on dec 12?
