Default Most engine problems straight now, except...

OK, so i posted a while ago about my motor running like absolute **** and not wanting to cooperate. Well, I checked all the vaccuum lines, all the connections, and i let it dry out a few days like everyone said. Started it up and it ran great the next time i drove it. I originally thought it was pushing water, but i realized later that it wasnt, I was mistaking runoff from the week old rain as water coming out the head, because it was running down the front. Finally i went and got an OBDII scanner. Ran it and found a few codes. I cleared them all and started the car. She ran great.

After driving for about 30 minutes i shut the car off to run in a store. when i came out and started it, it idled OK but again ran like ****. So i turned it off and then on again and scanned it. no codes. But this time it drove perfectly fine. Since then it seems like every other time i start it it runs OK, and every one in between it runs like ****. I have however seen two times where i had a pending P0106 code there for the map, but i just cant figure this out. Any help is greatly appreciated!

check your map sensor or replace it, what you could do is turn it on if it is running like crap then unplug the map sensor, most times the pcm reverts to the stock settings and reads that for about 30 seconds then runs like crap and throws codes, but if it fixes itself for the 30 seconds there is your problem. Done this numerous times with other cars and it works, I just replaced that sensor and issue solved.

I was under the impression that the car will not start/run at all with the MAP sensor disconnected. You could easily remove and clean the MAP sensor and see what results that yeilds.

Ok sorry you would probably be right on that I don't know how it does on the fbody's. I think jason has a better point to try cleaning it off first.

I cleaned mine out with electronics parts cleaner. I think you can try to get another rubber sealer/o-ring thingie, otherwise some silicon/rtv will be fine, just make sure that none of it gets in the sensor and give it ample time to dry.
