Default advice please

so after the car wouldn't crank at all in the morning i let it sit... finally went out tonight and it turned right over... fired up and went out for a drive... car started misfiring like it ran out of gas... i had looked at the gauge before i left and it was at a quarter it sat there for a while so i started thinking gauge might of gone out... called the tow truck because it left me stranded had them bring out gas and it wouldn't fire up... so i ended up having to get a tow home... by the way i had a scanner with me and it wouldn't let me read dtc's or anything it said make sure the ignition was on but it was... sooo what are some things to look for to get the scanner to read... i realize ground and pcm connections under the hood just for starts where else is a major ground??? it is cranking over but not starting help needed and i realize crank sensor wouldn't give it spark but that was replaced not to long ago... and it's not reading the fuel that was put in nor is it reading the temp when it was warm... but it was reading the voltage???

electrical or fuel pump. check all the fuses. and check to see if u get good fuel rail pressure

yeah sorry it's a 2000 ss

oh and fuel pump is still coming on but i will check the fuel rails for pressure tomorrow

is alt charging?

recent work includes 255 walbro fuel pump, tranny rebuilt and clutch replaced with ls7 kit... the car is getting juice but appereantly the data link isn't connected to the pcm... i realize if there is a faulty ground it won't let it connect so i will check major grounds tomorrow but it is turning over... wouldn't that stop if the ground was inadequate??? either way i'm just gonna get it to run and take it to nate

you can always have it towed it over there. Check the under hood fuses for your coil packs. Nate is your best bet though. Good luck.

checked all fuses all is normal went to push it into the garage today... but just felt like seeing if it started it did it wouldn't idle worth a **** but i was able to drive it in instead of pushing it... parked it all grounds feel fine and all fuses have power where they are supposed to... now it died again and the fuel pump does work as it comes on and shuts off i don't know why but it's not marking and i noticed that the service vehicle light comes on with the dash test but then it goes out and comes back still can't connect to the scanner... and i unplugged the computer to check for water or anything corrosive everything looked normal... had the battery unplugged for over 15 min to restart the pcm and still nothing...

recap: fuses fine... fuel pump comes on and shuts off (but i believe it still works since it kicked on today and you can hear it power up for a split second it even deliver fuel to the fuel rail for that split second)... and all grounds seem fine... can't connect the scanner and lost of ideas on what to look at ohh... yeah and the service vehicle not ses light comes on then off then on permanently at key on

alright got a self powered scanner and it came up with p 0650 and it's not displaying the ses light it will start but if i hook up the scanner to it my fuel gauge drops down to zero and the coolant also and it shows service vehicle light and air bag light, check gauges, and abs inop light wtf
