they both add oxygen that wouldnt normally be there,

I think I'd have to kill myself if an electrically supercharged 1.8 liter with a fat alternator beat my 5.7.

EDIT: If an all-electric engine can power the Tesla Roadster 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds, then I think someone could actually build a worth while electric supercharger. But to do so I think it would require a bank of Li-ion batteries and a what not, not just a bigger alt and some small motors bundled together.
