Default electric supercharger

don't remember who it was, someone at the last cypress meet i went to, we were talking about electric super chargers. totally forgot about it until now.

this is what i was talking about, a guy by the name of thomas knight created one that uses 3 motors...

info:
http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/04...ger/index.html

he use to have a really sweet website where you could calculate hp numbers with boost, but it looks like he took down a lot of stuff

not sure what that has to do with the functionality of the device. many good mechanics cant spell worth a damn. how many Camaro owners cant even spell the name of their car properly?

ive heard of these, and im not willing to trust that it works, but there is potential. the HP drain by the current draw would be far greater than that of a normal supercharger.

BTW those import mags will publish anything that bolted up to an import. I saw an article about those fake caliper covers that look like brembos one time in an import magazine.

i like the idea if you are using the excess energy produced by your alt to power the "blower" in times of need, but other then that i dont think i would spend money on it.

i think you need to do a little more research, he has many "dyno-proven" results.

now in no way would i ever buy one of these, but hey, they work. i think it is a really cool concept. key word concept.

It probably works for a certain about of time but for the cost of an alternator that produces 700 amps i rather just buy an actual supercharger. Think about the hp you'll lose from running such a big alternator.

yea i agree. but on the other hand, lets say you use it just for track use. every run or two you just swap out a battery. it would be nice to have boost right off the line.

Agree, but you will never be able to brag about. Unless your at the track.

It feels better knowing you have that kind of power on demand. I think tuning would also be a problem.

I got it lets put a huge fan on our intakes snip the plug off and wire it to an alternate battery that could be fun... LOL yeah cool concept but needs to be made more efficient.

my idea is just hooking up a scuba tank directly feeding into the intake... my boost can range anywhere from 1 - 100psi
