anytime the cops come to a scene of an accident they HAVE to take a report if asked by you, what do you mean the cop said he didnt want to. **** that, call down there and tell them that, did you get his badge number? a buisiness card? a name? the station he even works at?
im not sure if your case will hold any water in court, hell your going to pay thousands to get a thousand now,

Sorry to hear that man. If I'm not mistaken, she'll still get a ticket/fine once the accident is reported (through the DMV).
A few years ago a dumb broad side swiped my bird with my oldest son in it (he was 6 or 7 at the time). She gets out of the car screaming at me, telling me her brother is a cop, and that her husband is on his way.
If it were my wife, I'd put her in timeout and she'd be restricted from driving for a month.

Yeh that sucks similar **** happened to my moms tacoma. Some young girl got road rage and cut my step dad off and put him into the curb and she didn't have insurance the card she gave to police and us after my step dad went and t-boned her little altima was her card from a finance company. Atleast her car got totalled and our insurance didnt cover it and all I had to do was get my mom a new wheel.

Speaking as an insurance agent, get a police report! If local pd won't do it call their superior. If you don't get satisfacton call CHP or Sheriff. It will help your cause if you have that report. Otherwise its your word against hers, and if her man decides to lie and say he was a witness and you have none that could be bad for you. If you have all of her info. you can file it thru your insurance hopefully you are with a good company and you have uninsured motorist coverage. Even then I have seen some companies that will only pay a max of 3500 for an uninsured accident. And like someones else said get several estimates, and take lots of pics!

Take her *** to court and if the judge sentences her to make payments take it because if you turn it down they will let her go scott FREE. My brother was hit by a uninsured motorist and he turned down the offer and he was stuck with the whole repair bill.
the cop wouldn't take a report? you should have called the police again and had someone else come out, they HAVE to make a report no matter what the call was for, they log everything.
