Haha... I have about two years right now. I'm a worrier. I don't want to spend the money and then get stuck not finding someone who will pass me.

If I knew I could swap them back and forth myself for sure, I would do it. Is there a guide somewhere so I can see what's involved?

Wait to do the exhaust until just after you smog it, then you have two years to worry about it.

With my setup I have only had one cop ask about my exhaust and I just said it has a magnaflow exhaust and he said "Sounds good".If you want your exhaust loud you will have more problems, mine is pretty tame and really doesnt attract much attention unless im on the throttle quite a bit.

In your case I would find someone to smog it. I would not ever ever ever ever go through the pain in the *** of putting my stock stuff back on then putting the headers back on. I'm running Hooker LT's, ORY, Magnaflow. Gotten pulled over many a time but never for my exhaust.

I have Hooker LTs, Hooker O/R Y, and a Hooker Aerochamber Catback. This catback is slighty louder than stock at idle but decently aggressive while under WOT....

I added a QTP Electric Cutout, that way I can be loud when I want and with a flip of the switch I go back to sounding close to stock

I'm just going to install LTs and have cats welded into the Y as close as possible. Why wouldn't that be enough to pass the sniffer test?

leave the stock exhaust manifolds and cats, and just cut off the muffler. I did and at worst have had a cop say my car was "a little loud". At idle its quieter than a flowmaster but louder above 3500rpm.

I already have my muffler cut out, but I want LTs. I'm just going to say f*** it and install them. Hopefully if I put the cats right behind the headers they will get hot enough to work and I'll pass the sniffer. I suppose a tune won't hurt either.
