Wow that's amazing, I lived in North Hollywood near studio city for a few years before I moved up here. Now I live sort of near Allen and Mendocino.

I don't really go to any of the meets. I have heard of one that sometimes happen on fridays at Bobs Big Boy in Toluca Lake ( Burbank ).
I've seen other meets in the Western Section here.

I might check out a meet sometime, it's just life responsibilities have crashed in on me so I don't have as much free time as I would like.

LS1Adam84 ,

Yep I know marengo and orange grove. lol

I'm getting ready to drop my T56 trans real soon and get a rebuild. Plus I'm going to put a new LS7 clutch in there. So I won't be running with the Bird.

But yes we can PM with phone numbers.

SUCK MY SS ,

If you're down for a meet sometime, the same applies to you.

That's if you guys don't mind hanging out with an old guy, I just turned 46 the other day.

Damn man you are olllllldddd. Nahh thats cool my dad, is 48 and I am trying to get him into an fbody or vette, he wants one soo bad but my mom pulls the whole if you have money for a toy we have money for the house to paint or whatever hahahaha.

Age has no bearing in the car world, only when a young kid gets a car he didn't pay for and can't handle.

Hahaha I know I'm old, what can I say but I still try to be young at heart.
Yes your dad needs to get a vette or fbody. I mean you only live once.

I know about house maintaince and expenses, it gets in the way of my car parts sometimes. My wife will nag me to death if I don't take care of the house duties first.

I'm on this forum alot... I like it, it's great. I'm down for a meet sometime.
Bobs or I've been curious about those meets where the Cobra and GM cars go to.

Hey I have to go do a couple service call so I'll talk to you guys later.

Damn allen and meadowbrook, that's in the neighborhood.

My Bird is running but my Spec clutch is slipping a little so I ordered an LS7.
Plus I'm going to rebuild the trans too.

Well have to go to one of these meets in the near future. I'd feel better if my Bird was running right.

oh right on...do you rebuild transmissions yourself?
if you need any help with it, lsgunz28 is also in pasadena, and he can help out...he rebuilt his blown t56 himself, and it lives to this day with many hours of road race abuse...lol

Shant me and some buddies were lookin for a house to rent and saw that one, little did we know just how colorful the neighborhood was, and how different we were for living there.

There is always about 5 or 6 guys who show up with 4th gen fbody's at bob's.

wilson makes the FAST and i think wilson is the parent company to comp cams.

i dont think comp will go away. from what ive learned all custom cams for LS motors (ie. TSP, TR, etc.) use the comp XRE lobes so theyre probably ground by comp.

I'm sure I could pull it off. I've rebuilt manual trannys before. Not T56.
It doesn't look real difficult, it's mainly having all the proper tools.
I'm still thinking about doing it.

But ........

There is a LS1Tech sponsor in Gardena that will rebuild with:
* New carbon fiber synchro kit
* New bronze fork pads
* New upgraded steel 3-4 fork
* 3-4 billet struts which are an extra
and everything for a resonable cost.
http://performanceautopartsonline.co...products_id=34

I'll drop the tranny myself, than take a trip to APF in Gardena, they will
do it on exchange on the spot if I set it up in advance.

I think I've seen lsgunz28 here on Tech. I think he has the Skool Chewing tobacco avatar? lol

I've always wondered why Crane cams didn't seem to have a presence on the web and forums.

In the past I called Vinci and emailed them numerous times and they would never respond. That's why I ended up going with a Comp Cam.

Like noriceinside stated, Comp Cams most likely grinds most of the vendor and custom cams.

Yes I called Lee at APF and than Johnny called me.

Johnny sounds like he's very knowledgable. I get the impression that he will do a good job.

I almost had a deal on a MN12 from a 2006 GTO. It needed the midcase because the guy had cracked it while trimming it down to fit. The guy had dropped it in 240SX with an LS2. He decided to go to an Auto trans. He claimed his MN12 T56 had about 19K miles on it. The guy is in Azuza. I called, sent a PM, sent a text but he never called me back.

I forgot to mention, the guy wanted $850.00 .
