Looks like a typical ugly 80's "customized" car. Everything mechanicaly should still be the same TPI crap. Weird though, those cars stock didnt get to 140mph, especially a 305.

That rear hatch is aftermarket. I've seen a few that were made into notch backs. Also that speedo not sure what package u needed to have it but I pulled one out of an 88 iroc at the junk yard and installed in my old 85. Those speedo's aren't hard to come across but they are expensive once u find them. Also that motor and trans combination 350/t5 was not available from the factory.

86-90 IROC-Z's were offered in 5.0 & 5.7 TPI.

My 88 IROC had a 145 mph speedo.

I don't remember it being an option.

85 also had a 5.0 tpi available. Also I was under the impression the the 5.7 was not available in a thirdgen until 87.

you couldnt get a l98 with a m5, a4's only. The 5 speeds were to weak to hold the 350 tpi so none got them

You were right, I completely messed up that post.

5.0 TPI was available as an option in 85, standard on IROC-Z in 86, I believe.
87 was the first year of the 5.7
