I'll help you put a 5.3 in if you get one. I may have done it before.

You can mod them in exactly the same way you mod a LS1. Everything is compatible. It's basically a iron LS1 with the same stroke, smaller bore. Once you put a cam, heads, intake...the only thing that will be different is the displacement. Plus it's iron so you can build it to take some abuse, and it can easily be bored out to a 5.7.

thats really good to know maybe I'll do a 5.3 in the 3rd gen instead of an ls1. When the time comes for it anyways...

IDK about that for the sole reason that you wont get much for your car. That would be bad *** tho!

So I was talking with my mechanic and if I pull the motor and rebuild I'm gonna go for a 355 with a mild cam in it to get some more power out of it.

The CC503 is just about the biggest cam that will work effectively with stock heads. I DD my CC503 car, no problems whatsoever. Get a good tune and you'll have no issues.

Well that's good to hear because I was planning on using the 503 that's what I wanted to get. Also when I think big cam I think of something like cu has in his car where it's cammin so bad that it sounds like it's barely running at idle LOL
