Question Where to get a 160 thermo

I have a 05 LS2, I am looking for a 160 thermostat. I cant find one. I have been to 2 Corvette Local shops (Riversdie & Anaheim) , NAPA, AUTO PARTS SOURCE, HOT ROD SHOP (Norco) and J&M SPEED CENTER (Riverside). I did find one place that had it with the housing only and wanted $70+.

Are you running some sort of twin turbo setup with A/C, oil and trans cooler??

Don't waste your money... Lsx motors need some heat.

I've been told I should get rid of my 160 and get a 180 or stock. I'm sure theres really no benefit in going to the 160. Why do you want to get one?

J&M really donesnt carry any lsx stuff, I live right around the corner and ive been telling the manager that he needs to get into it.

I got mine from SDPC but you really wont find any place with one in stock. When we tuned my car it was running in the 230* range on the dyno, after I switched to a 160 therm it runs about 175* to 180* all day long and felt much stronger.

If you really want it...

http://www.byunspeed.com/product_inf...oducts_id=6532

that is without the housing; if you look on the site they have different temps with the housing if you need it

Hey Nate, will that part from AutoZone also work on an LS2? If so, I'm with Nate on this one. Go to AutoZone. It's about $34, with tax and comes with the housing if needed.

04+ lsx motors have a different thermostat , they reuse the original housing, you just replace the thermostat itself.
