What's the "LS1tech" of handguns? Trying to get some feedback on a Smith and Wesson M&P 45. Seems like a good gun and S&W put a lifetime warranty on them, plus they are california compliant.

Damn I was about to ask where the sale is but u just said texas I'm looking into a gun aswell just can't make up my mind. I want a Springfield 1911 but don't really want to spend 800 dollars on a handgun right now. I found a Taurus 24/7 Pro in a 40 or 45 for roughly 400 dollars so I'm thinking of going that route. I just want to go to the range first and try a few out.

You can't really go wrong with any 1911 model, I mean the design is about 100 yrs old and it's still one of the best. I like the M&P because it comes with 3 different grips to fit your hand, and it has a life time warranty. Smith and Wesson even pays shipping both ways on warranty stuff. Only thing I don't like is the magazine safety, which completely defeats the purpose of a tactical reload. Plus at $570 new, and 4 magazines, its a pretty good deal.

I have a Ruger 9mm decocker. No safety to fool with, just pick it up and start blasting. When you are finished, depress the decocker lever and it goes into safe mode. Nice and simple. I use 115gr hollow points in it.

If you're looking for info, get on AR15.com and take a look around. They have a huge handgun section and most people there know exactually what they are talking about. S&W are great guns, but what caliber, style, and brand depends on what you will be using it for. Goodluck!
