Default LSx shootout in Sacto?

Rules
Must be fuel injected LS based motor running a Factory PCM, No stand alone system.
3,300lb weight requirement for power adder.
2,900 weight requirement for All Motor.
Vehicles to be weighed after each pass WITH DRIVER.
Any single power adder ok. Twin turbos ok, just no combining 2 power adders.
Tire must be DOT, 325 and smaller drag radial or equivalent DOT slick.
Any suspension ok.

$100 buy in

As far as pay out goes, I was thinking:
1st 65%
2nd 25%
3rd 10%

Time wise I was thinking towards the end of summer on a Grudge night.

Who would be interested in something like this?

Shaun

You try norcal1320, norcal-lsx or sacfodyz? A date would be cool. I think some guys are gonna try to do a turbo buick deal at one of the grudge fests in august. I might show up for that if nothing just to spectate. I go to a lot of grudge nights anyways...

George, only one I don't have it on is the Sacfbodyz.. Didn't even know that sight existed. I honestly don't feel like registering on another site, but please feel free to post a link here.

Updated the rules to the 2,900 NA / 3,300lb Power adder.

Weights are race weight with driver.

I also thought about limiting it to a production block IE, LS1/2/3/6/7 LQ4 L92 ect, but no LSX blocks and

Again, I am open to suggestions but want to keep the rules loose so most all can apply.

that is my home site and where all of the sac guys hang out. we dont really have anything to compete in this race. maybe my car and another, but most are just street cars now.

Cam,

In your opinion, what would make this more viable to you and your guys?

You mentioned weight, which I dropped down a little.
You mention not having a radial, yet DOT Slicks are ok as mentioned on other sites.

So what works for you? Trying to make this an average Joe heads up race. I think requiring a factory PCM takes a lot of the heavy hitters out and slows it down to at best mid 9 second deal. I bet the majority of the people that would run this would probably be closer to the mid 10 - mid 11 on average.

I'm open to suggestion, but I want to keep it a single class. So please feel free to give some constructional critisism. (And please don't read this text the wrong way like I'm angry, because I'm not).

Maybe having more classes would make it better for some. I know I dont have anything for alot of the guys showing up but, if there were classes like Stock motor N/A and stock motor power adder classes that would be good, at least than a poor country boy like me could compete. Just throwing more ideas out there.

im not mad either just offereing constructive critsism. the DOT thing works fine, nothing wrong with it. like said before, just takes away from the faster guys cuz we have to buy new tires. no big deal for people that have the money.

Sounds like it is more generated towards a street car or a slower field which can and will bring out more cars who think they can win. if slicks were allowed it would be a mid 9sec race. there is 5-6 cars that can run in that range. but beside the point.

just stick to your rules, the weight is good now but most likely it will be maybe a mid 10 sec car and the rest will be in the 11's. good luck and i will see what i can do to try to get there. maybe race the winner for a couple hundred or something idk

as for different classes. if you do this people wont show like usual and it gets to hard keep it to one class and have people step up. its a 100 bucks you never know what is gonna happen.
