well im sure your twin mercury's outboards rev pretty high but were not talking about fishing boats here lol j/k
but on a serious note ive messed with tons of flatbottom style boats that most people refer to as a "jet boat"
but i never really seen a twin engine jet drive boat are you sure its a jet drive or stern drive??
but either way props to you man, i wish i had a twin engine boat

it's a lot of fun because you hang on the back like a monkey and not worry about a propeller chopping off your face

go with the LS1 man disreguard any thing saying oh it doesnt rev high enough. my jet boat has a 455 olds in it and it only pulls to 4500 and tops out its all about your jet drive. im desperatly wanting to slap an LS1 into mine cuz it will be alot lighter in the *** making it plane alot easier out of the hole. plus yeah we all rev high and make our power high in our LS1's on the street but thats all just a matter of camshaft just get an appropriate cam with a good powerband. keep looking i havent been able to find much marine parts for an LS1 so keep this threat updated im interested.

malibu put some in their "corvette" boats. they had ls1's, replica corvette dash, y2k wheels on the trailers, etc.
Swapping one in would be easy. i would recommend changing over to a carb, because i dont know how well LS1 electronics would do in an exposed engine compartment, and the boat is most likely already setup for a carb. The mid plate will interchange with one for a chevy, and use a front motor plate from s&w racecars, theyre only $110...

A 6.0 would be nice but those seem to be a lot harder to come by and I was thinking the same thing about going with the carb as I wouldnt know what to do with an ecm from any of the EFI cars or trucks as there are no electronics on a boat for the most part. I want to keep everything pretty simple but yet retain the power capabilities that ls1's can deliver. Does MSD carry something I can use in order to run injectors without an ECM from a car or a truck? Or would it even be possible to run the current ECM in order to run injectors??? I will have to look into the rear and front plates thanks for the good info!!

I would think that the fuel management of a Fuel Injected boat vs a carb'd boat would be nice, especially if you are just putting around and not WOT all the time.
