Close, but no cigar.
I agree they should have used dual rectangular headlights and and larger tail light more like the '77 - '78 style. That would have given it a more distinctive look and set it more apart from the Camaro. And they could have kept the stock wheels, they look more Pontiac than Chevy to me anyway.
