I had my car and several customers cars in the race...
My black notch coupe mustang /w stock LS1 motor ran high 10's n/a every pass..
we had a white C5 vette running 10.7's every pass
and a white /w blue stripes WS6 transam running 11.2's...
Found out friday before the saturday qualifying that they already talked to alot of racers with "1969 and older cars" that they were looking to choose nothing newer than 1969 and all the people they talked to ran about 10.40's.....then BAM saturday they choose 32 cars none newere than 1969 and it was a THREE tenths spread 10.30-10.60 on the cars...
They had DOZENS of other cars that ran 10.40's that would have made it a one tenth spread field but they wanted "1969 and older ONLY".. BULLL SH*TTTTTTTTTTTTT
I'll never goto a pinks race again. It was completely rigged. I feel they owe alot of people their money back because they never even had a chance to make the race due to year of their car.

Do remember seeing that WS6 race and it was bad ***. My buddies 1970 Camaro was running 10.17's all day on Saturday on pump gas and he didnt get picked.

I wanted to go but I wasnt going to drive 3 hours and then pay $30 to watch.
Issues like this are exactly why I want to put together a drag race for late-model cars only:

Another thing I noticed in the 32 car field is that there were quite a few with parachutes. Didnt think a parachute was needed in a 10.30-10.60 car.
And yes, it was HOT out there. Remember them saying track temp was 150 degrees at about 2pm.

i was with my friend racing his 240sx with a mild forged 347 that i had literally just gotten together and in the car a day before the event. it went best pass 11.35 @ 125 the car needs to be sorted out as far as suspension. but not bad for a 6speed car and a basic budget
