Default Finished an 02' Z-28 Dyno = 430RWHP w/Emissions Friendly Cam & Heads

Hey guys. Just wanted to throw this up on LS1Tech as well.

A.I.R. completed a project car last month, after break in of the new Clutch and 4.10 gears which took a few weeks, we finished Dynoing the car this morning. I'm very happy with the results of Todd's 02' Z-28. Todd wanted MAX Power and still pass emissions, it's a juggling act to get best performance and still pass the sniffer, so after doing some math on a new (smaller) Custom Grind Cam, and getting him the right combo, the car put down some impressive #'s. With stock 3.42 gearing she would have put down another 5 to 10RWHP. The Cam pulls Torque very well through out the entire rpm band, and lowering the idle to 725 rpms will still provide some pretty good lope from the exhaust.

Engine Specs = Stock LS1 346ci (non LS6 block).
Original Fast 90mm Intake and 90mm TB, unported
Lid w/stock paper filter
PRC 5.3L heads
A.I.R. New Custom Grind Cam (emissions friendly), nick named "E-Max Cam" 224/228 Duration on a 115 +2 LSA
Pace Setter 1 3/4" Headers w/off road y-pipe installed currently,
Spec Stage 4 Clutch
10 Bolt w/4.10 Gears

Dyno pulls were done on 91 Oct gas, 30 deg of timing and A/F 12.5 to 1 at WOT which netted best numbers and still safe, the car put down 430RWHP and 381 RWTQ, thats just over 500 Engine HP from a N.A. Head/Cam LS1, not too bad.

****, even CO emissions are easier than CA's. Good times nonetheless.

Thanks guys... Just trying to get my name out there, for people in the Colorado and surrounding Area.

The customer has a Catted Y when he needs to pass early next year. Then back off again as soon as he does. :-)

Neither would the heads, headers, or FAST intake & tb.

Heads they may not know what they're looking at, but the rest would be dead giveaways on visual.

CA must be tough on the visual huh. CO really is hit and miss on the visual, you pass the sniffer, your good.

we have 430rw cars out here that pass the visual and sniffer in ca. We can get the sniffer to pass on as big as a 226 single pattern 114lsa with a nice set of heads... its been done.

I like the PRC's good value, and good performance. I know you had bad luck on your clutch, many many other people running SPEC without issues.

Oh I'm sure there are other people out there that have done something like this before. Not many people in Colorado are doing this though, most tend to go with Big cam and Heads combo.
