Default my fukn third gen :(

im tired of this fukn car since i bought it i have nothing but put in work, money an time into it..
its a 92 25th anni. z28 m5

so yesterday the damn TPS sensor went out, so i replaced it an the harness because it was bad.

so i went to try it out an it was running very good maybe 20 mins later
the fukn engine starts knockin as time passes bye it gets worse an worse..
so now it sounds like if someone is hitting it with a mallet or something...

what do you guys recommend i dont have a lot of money at the time to do a lot to it...

i was thinking of doing a tpi 383 stroker with new aftermarket heads, an bunch of stuff...

rite now its a 305 tpi with a t-5

fuken sucks to have thing after thing go wrong

please let me know what i should do...

LS1 swap!

You can get a LS1/4L60E drop out for ~2500.

You can get these to bolt it up to your car:
http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/82...ossmember.aspx

You'll have to get an upgraded fuel pump and T the lines to have only a feed line and no return.

You'll also have to get VATS tuned out of your PCM.

I can modify your wire harness.

5.3/4L60E is an affordable swap, and you can make if fast if you put in a nice cam and some bolt on's.

I will probably have a 305 tpi motor in a couple weeks for sale with about 50,000 miles on it. If you're interested in it, shoot me a pm and maybe we can work somethin out.

It all depends on how much your willing to spend, and it NEVER costs as much as you think it will, double what ever you think it will cost and you'll be on the safe side. If it were my car I would just build a 355 for it, just cuz the fact everyone on thirdgen.org says its the best/most affordable set up. Lsx/t56 is obviously the dream set up but it wont be cheap. On another note your t5 wont handle much more power than a stock 350 will dish out so thats something you need to think about to.

dont use the hawks crossmember less you plan on not having exhaust, nothing fits around it, and the fouth gen camaro tank bolts right up, the fuel pump works just gotta swap the fuel level sensor from a grand prix i think it is. and u can use fouth gen fuel lines just gotta shorten them.

+1 that would be a awesome set up to have in a third gen. I dont think it should cost to much to get it set in there either. I know that it will mount up with just minor mods.

The crap you're going through is normal on a third gen car. I know as I've had two, one stock one modified. The stock 89 Iroc gave me nightmares mainly because of the VATS system, and then starter issues, a bad MAF sensor, TPS sensor, blown head gasket, etc forced me to sell it. I won't even go into it about my 91 Z with a 383 miniram afr head motor. But even after six years, 2 rebuilds, and two engine fires later it's still not running right. It's my dads toy now. Anyway just save up and get a lower mile 4th gen. Or just do an ls1 sway like the guys have said. Stay away from any third gen engine, I've only had bad luck with my tpi engines.

I figured 1500 is what I want to get for it.

Will come with wire harness and PCM tuned by Madtuner
Bad: Engine is pretty greasy, once it's out you can clean it up, and reseal anything you want.

LT1
~45k on the bottom end
stock heads and intake
CC503 cam
Crane 10308 dual springs
Comp Pro Mag 1.6 rr's
TF guideplates
ARP rocker arm studs
PS painted 1 3/4" LT headers (a bit dinged up since my car is slammed, but you'd need different headers anyway)
Prof Prod 52mm TB
Cobra 39# injectors

T56
~175k miles, no problems
newly installed Zoom kevlar clutch
stock slave and master
stock shifter, hurst pistol grip handle

Not a bad price. The fact that it's missing the front acc's is not a big deal as you have to run Camaro or Corvette acc's anyway.
