Default Rim repair question

So my bad luck continues yet again. I found out yesterday that a slow leak from one of my brand new tires, is due to a bad seal on the rim. Looking at the rim, you can tell the chrome has definitely seen better days, but its not too bad.
My question is what options do I have as far as repairing the rim? I know nothing about this, only what the tire shop told me. They said I may have to get it re-chromed or re-finished. which sounds pretty expensive.
Does anyone here do this sort of work or recommend a shop that does good work for pretty cheap?

Thanks guys.

My bro had a leak in one of his rims cause of the same reason I think. It ran him about $80 bucks I think. He took it to some shop here in Riverside.

I've heard that they find the leak and just weld it from the inside.

I'm trying to find a good shop, not just any shop.

thats what we always recommend. generally the chrome is flaking on the inside of the rim around where the bead of the tire sits. we only recommend rechroming or replacing

Take the tire off and wire wheel the area where the bead seals. Brush on some sealer and put the tire back on. Pm if you need to know where to go...
