On another forum, I made a comment to that effect in a "a friend of a friend died when his jack failed while he was changing the oil on his car" thread on another forum. People got pissed off at me and the thread got locked when other people started arguing with each other and saying I don't know ****... LOL. Apparently I know enough to work on a car without dying!

I got one of the aluminum jacks from Costco it has worked on more than a few different vehicles for a few years now. The first one i bought, i had to take back because it wouldnt budge the front end of my lightning (obvious flaw), but the one i have now has been perfect.

I agree I have had my $69.00 costco jack for 7 years and it's great. If you keep the receipt you can pretty much take it back whenever.

Yea, I bought a Proxone engine stand from Kragen, and so far it's still holding the engine up. Welds looked ok.
