Might be moving to Rio Rancho soon... can anybody tell me what it's like? Never been to that area so I really have no idea what to expect. Besides ALIENS of course!

I'm from Abq, It's not too bad. Just stay out of the war-zone and the South Valley and you'll be fine haha and if you see a chicano with a bald head don't look him in the eyes! ahaha

 

Haha well aliens are in Roswell which is the eastern part of NM but Rio Rancho/Albuquerque isn't too bad. I guess what do you want to know? I actually live in southern NM (las cruces) but I am up there a bit since I have family up there just ask and maybe I can help answer some questions.

 

Oh yeah, Rio rathole sucks. DO NOT SPEED.

would have liked to have stayed, but couldn't find any work... the GF has a potential position opening up in Rio Rancho, NM so....

 

My parents live there and I was there just there for Thanksgiving. I have been there about 25 times in the last several years. It's very dry and it's cold this time of year. There is no water anyware except for the merkey rio grande. Summer is alot like Murrieta.

Rio rancho is NE of Abq. Intel has a big office there. You can pick up a decent house there for about 100k but overall the wages suck compared to Ca or even Az.

Well the company the GF would be working for is going to be subcontracted out to Intel... it's funny you mentioned it!

Have you heard/seen anything about any sort of visual effects/movie studios or anything like that out there?

Nope although there are some tech companies moving there so you never know. I agree watch yourself speeding through town but the good thing is you can be out in the middle of no ware in about 15 miles!

 

hmmm... good to know. It'll be great if she gets the job out there. I just hope I can find something in my field out there as well. Gotta pull my own weight ya know
