damn im almost there myself, i rmoved heater box, a/c, pass. side air bag, radio, speakers, spare,jack, pass. seat, rear seats, rear seat belts, carpet, thats 175 pounds, still need:bumper supports, door bars, metal under fender, abs, drag brakes, lighter k-member/ upper and lower a arms... trying to hit 2800 race weight

Lol, start with a clean turd gen, immediately lighter from the get go. thats what I was gonna do with mine. A friend of mine out here keeps up with modded ls1 cars in his, and he is still on a lo3 305 tbi motor! pretty impressive in my book.

trust me its alot of fun & you learn alot too. there's a realy good thread on removing the dash, helped me alot. i need a motor bad... anyone out there with a ls1 shortblock????

Damn, This brings back memories of my car. I removed the HVAC, stero, washer fluid tank, fog lights, all the smog stuff and so much more. I lost track once i started using the sawzall
. I added a little weight with the iron block and turbo kit, but I think the power will make up for that.
