so choices are
1.) pull motor apart and try to have a shop fix it (probably exspensive if possible)
2.) just get another 5.3l (cheaper route)
EDIT: Just throwing this out there, might be crazy talk though...but if you are considering changing out the block for a new one, which would mean the crank is toast or needs to be pulled out and repaired (expensive), maybe you could just weld the balancer back onto the crank?

would love a 6.0l but too expensive for me especially considering i can get 5.3's for go from $200-$800. i dont need everything either just the block with heads on it (dont feel like puttin heads on)
and try to find a welder worth a damn so it won't be too off balance lol
talked to him and he said that i have to take the motor to him and hell get it out for $60-$130.
so gonna let my exhaust guy do all the turbo piping and stuff then im gonna take it home take it apart and take the motor to him and replace my clutch.
dont wanna take apart the motor its not worth it to me.
