damnit changed my cam so i can start doin the turbo setup on my car. putting everythign back together and when i was installing the crank bolt (with a longer bolt) and the damn thing went in fine but when i went to take it out the bolt snapped in the crank. i didnt bottom out the bolt in the crank and in screwed in fine so it wasnt cross threaded. talked to my exhaust guy and he said he might be able to drill it out and tap it. im hoping he can.

what do you guys think i should do if he cant get it out? buy another 5.3 (cause theyre cheap)? pull the motor apart and take the crank to a machine shop or whatever and have them fix it? i dont have much money though.

if the head of the bolt snaped off, then what is going to happen to the easy out when you start turning it? probably gonna need an insert like a heli coil, after you drill it, if you snap off the easy out, you are gonna have a very hard time , i say drill it and install a heli coil

Hard lesson learned...ALWAYS use a threaded rod and a nut to seat the balancer.

Did you use a stock balancer bolt? Theyre torque-to-yield, I wouldnt use one more than once... there are ways to get it out though
