Anyone have one? Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT for LS1 & LS2's
#21
Well guys, I am seriously contimplating this. We'll see when my tax return comes in. Btw, I saw something yesterday that caught my eye, one of my LS1 books stated that they have seen a 15rwhp increase with the FAST over the LS6 intake. Then while Googling the Edelbrock one guy said he got a 39hp increase on the dyno over a LS6 with Edelbrock... he had Patriot 2.5 heads and a decent cam so...Im not sure. Still looking for more info and dyno sheets for the Edelbrock.
Also, I might get a cowl for the hell of it now that Ive been looking at some.

A few weeks ago I did a back to back swap on my '02 LS1. Everything was basically stock except for some "HSV" Shorty style headers and twin 2.5" exhaust and over radiator intake. The runs were done on a Dyno Dynamics eddy current dyno.
Base run with std LS6 manifold once tuned was 238rwkw (318rwhp) peaking around 5700 -5800rpm. Did a straight swap over retaining the std throttlebody and pulled 230 odd rwkw(308hp)peaking around 6300-6400rpm, running pretty rich through the midrange and a little rich on the topend. Retuned to decent mixtures and a few different spark curves and eventually got to 237-238rwkw(317hp), still peaking around 6300-6400, also way down in the low and midrange. Last change was installing an 84mm throttlebody but with a 75mm neck. With a slight tweak of the tune, it peaked out at 241rwkw(322hp).
Will post up a graph when I go print it out.
This is a std cam.
Maybe once the airflow demands exceed the LS6 then this manifold may shine, but for a std motor it may make a few more peak hp but there was a HUGE hit in the low and mid range.
I put the LS6 back on for the time being.
This was in a '02 monaro (GTO) auto.
