Default opti went bad need help

Hey guys my waterpump leaked down on my opti and is causing me a bunch of problems. Can anyone chime in and let me know if any of the optis on this page would be the right one so i dont get stuck replacing it again in a few months. If its not on the page can you shoot me a link of a checker or autozone or napa site that has the part for hopefully under 400 bucks. I need it today or id be ordering from ebay or something for cheap. Thanks everyone her is my link

What kind of price did you get on the install? It maybe cheaper to rent a car and do it your self. Shops usually charge about $500-$800.00 to install one.

to do my waterpump and opti its gonna cost me 300 for install so thats not bad considering its a bitch to do and i myself dont even wanna deal with it. I just need to find a good opti and get the car to the shop asap. I have the money so im not worried about shop costs. I just wanna get the right opti and not have to mess with it in a couple months like some people say they do when they buy the cheaper optis

That link is saying server error, otherwise I can tell you exactly which one you'd need. Just make sure it is a genuine AC Delco opti.

I searched for distributor on their website.

DEM DC10012 - is the OEM distributor.

BK 7357287 - is the MSD unit.

With either one, make sure the shop removes the distributor cap and adds a dab of thread locker to the two rotor screws before installing the opti. This will prevent rotor failure.

Just make sure the back of the opti looks like this one:

Have you decided where to pick up your opti yet locally?

Usually summit has the better price on GM/ACDelco units and you might be able to get faster shipping to work out for you.

Who are you having do the work?

That's exactly what I told him to do in a PM, I gave him the part number off Summit's website for a GM opti. Told him to order it overnight shipping so he could get it the next day. Hopefully he got my PM and followed my instructions.

You sure they were OEM GM units? No need to spend 500 bucks when a genuine AC Delco/Delphi unit is more than sufficient. Add thread locker to the rotor screws (which you should do to the MSD unit as well) and you are good to go for many trouble free miles.

i didnt have time to wait to order it i needed the car for work so i called a buddy that works at a body shop and he used his company discount to get me a gm replacement. It costed me more money it was 465 but it was spend the extra cash or miss work and possibly not have a job. So with the opti waterpump and install at a friends shop i ended up out the door at $1080.00. I hate this damn car and ill be getting an ls1 car as soon money permits. Right now im trying to get a house and i have a baby on the way so i just need my lt1 car to hold up a few more months.
